Merchant of the month! Aroma Roasters is celebrating their 30th anniversary this month! On January 19, 1991 Dayna Irvine and Sandra Young opened the doors to A’Roma Roasters in Railroad Square. Their vision was to have a safe place where anyone could go to besides their home or work - a third place where one could enjoy a great cup of coffee or espresso drink and study or listen to live music and make new friends. Empty for seven years, the old baggage claim building for ...the Southern Pacific Railroad became the ideal location to start a business. Cornmeal crust pizza was Dayna’s first idea but she could not master a good recipe. However, having a passion for great coffee and a love for people gave Dayna the idea for A’Roma Roasters. While business started off slowly, two months later an article written by the late Susan Schwartz opened up the floodgates and the business gained momentum and a following. Dayna has never advertised her business; she just let it grow organically. This year marks 30 years of hard work, loyal customers and the love and devotion of employees who make A’Roma Roasters what it is today. Dayna and her energetic and friendly staff never fail in making the cafe a welcoming place to be.

Historic railroad Square has new banners! Many shops are open for business & restaurants are open for takeout. Come visit and suport our local businesses.

Share the holiday spirit in Railroad Square on Saturday, December 12th from 2-4 when Charlie Brown and Woodstock will be dressed up for you to take your holiday photo. (Socially distanced, of course) Don't miss the Cantiamo Sonoma chorale who will be adding to the festive spirit. Check out the new AC Hotel Santa Rosa Downtown now open at 300 Davis St. in Historic Railroad Square! RRSQ Association board members Dee, Rafael, Florine and Kris welcome this new hotel and hot spot to our district. It was our pleasure to spend time with their gracious staff and learn about the hotel and AC Kitchen, which is now open for breakfast and dinner. Check out their website for hours and menu.

RRSQ board members Florine, Rafael, Dee and myself are excited to welcome sisters Leandra and Jazmin, owners of our newest addition: Nimble & Finn's Ice Cream parlor to Railroad Square! Located at 124 4th Street, they are a fabulous addition to our district. If you haven't stopped by to check out the homemade ice cream or maybe the waffle dogs, you're missing something special! Not to mention the delicious comfort food grilled cheese sandwiches. Oh, and guess what? Their bar will be open soon. Check them out!

New restaurant in Railroad Square! Estero Cafe from Valley Ford is opening a 2nd location in the City 205 Building in Historic Railroad Square. Can't wait!

Winter Lights, downtown Santa Rosa’s annual tree lighting event, brings the community together to celebrate the holidays with activities for all ages. This is a free event for the whole community, but you can RSVP and invite your friends & family.
