Saturday, January 7th, 2017, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Bill Summers will present a workshop on Fenton's topaz color. Variously known as vaseline and canary, it is known as topaz in the Fenton world. It is the most popular color amongst all the colors that Fenton produced! Bring examples of Fenton glass in this color as well as Fenton glass that you have found in your travels! This is the fifth workshop in Fenton glass that Bill Summers has produced! The HGM has received a donation of Fenton glass which will be for sale in the Gift Shop on that day!

The Historical Glass Museum Foundation has designed the Mezzanine display for the 2016 Kimberly Crest Holiday Tour. Featured is the Julie Binkley collection of Fostoria American glassware--part of the largest collection of Fostoria American west of the Mississippi River. Many rare pieces will be on display. Come join at this festive event. Sunday, November 27th, 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. Kimberly Crest, a Victorian mansiion that was the home of the Kimberly/Shirk family is located ...at 1325 Prospect Dr., Redlands CA. It is located on Prospect Drive off Highland Avenue and not Fountain Ave. Tickets to the Holiday Tour are $25. FENTON Glass Seminar on Saturday, October 1, at the Historical Glass Museum, Redlands, CA. I want to invite you to another seminar on Fenton Glass. Bill Summers, vice president of the museum and knowledgeable Fenton collector, will be presenting on "Fenton 70 oz. Pitchers and Tumbers, 1908-1950s on Saturday, October 1, at 11 a.m. at the Glass Museum, 1157 N. Orange St., Redlands. Also known as "iced tea" or "water" sets, these were among the earliest products of the Fenton ...Glass Company and were very popular in the company's earliest years. Attendees are invited to bring samples of their own collection to share with others and for information provided by Bill Summers. Free Refreshments! The Gift Shop will be open from noon to four p.m. as well as the entire collection! Hoping to see you there!

FENTON GLASS SEMINAR ON JUNE 19th at the Historical Glass Museum, Redlands, CA! I wanted to invite you to a special workshop on Fenton Glass that is going to be held on Sunday, June 19th at the Historical Glass Museum from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Our talent vice president, Bill Summers, is going to present on Rare Fenton pieces that were available for "one year, one month, or one run.! You are going to see some things that are very rarely ever seen! Some are from our museum collection and some are from Bill's collection. We are invited attendees to bring their own Fenton finds to share with other attendees. Free Refreshments! The Gift Shop will be open from noon to four p.m. as well as the entire collection! FENTON GLASS SEMINAR AT REDLANDS GLASS MUSEUM On Saturday, February 20th at 11:00AM, the Historical Glass Museum in Redlands will host the third of its seminars on collectible Fenton glass. Museum Vice President Bill Summers will present, Fenton Glass: The First 25 Years and the Last 25 Years. This tutorial will be illustrated with actual examples of early and late Fenton glassware. Afterwards, you can see more examples of Fenton glass in the Museum’s collection, then browse the Museum Gift Shop for Fenton glass treasures you can buy. Among the Fenton glass currently being offered in the Gift Shop is a number of pieces of Fenton’s Violets in the Snow, white milk glass pieces with a handpainted decoration of violets. Admission is free, and refreshments will be served.

At last! Opportunity Drawing pieces which will be awarded on Saturday, December 5th at the close of the Holiday Open House! Tickets will be six for $5.00! The pieces are: 1) Imperial Candlewick 9" bowl with floral carving by unknown carver; 2) Fenton Hobnail Milk Glass bowl; 3) Reproduction bowl, originally made by Gillander in 1877, unknown maker; 4) New Martinsville emerald green Swan olive dish c. 1940s; and, 5) Viking Flowerlite bowl that features a candle and flowers in a combined unit, c. 1950s.

HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE The Historical Glass Museum has its annual Holiday Open House on Saturday, December 5th, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the museum, 1157 N. Orange Street, Redlands. Come visit the only museum of its kind west of the Mississippi River and see 5,000 pieces of historic tableware and decorative glass from 1800 to the present, all displayed in a Victorian cottage. Free admission and refreshments for the Open House. Enjoy the decorations throughout the museum. Come see the Gift Shop where a wide selection of vintage glass is available for sale at reasonable prices. An Opportunity Drawing for a variety of valuable vintage glass pieces will be held that day.

Pre-Holiday 30% Off Sale at the Historical Glass Museum! On Saturday, November 14th and Sunday, November 15th, the gift shop of the Historical Glass Museum in Redlands will be having a 30% off sale. Museum members will receive an additional 10% off! The gift shop offers a rotating selection of hundreds of pieces of antique, collectible and contemporary glass that has been donated by Museum members and supporters. Fenton Glass Workshop The Historical Glass Museum will present the second in a series of free lectures on Fenton Glass on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the museum, 1157 N. Orange Ave., Redlands, CA. HGM Vice President, Bill Summers will use examples from the museum collection plus his own collection, to discuss Fenton animals and related whimseys. The term whimsey refers to offhand glass items that were not a part of the company’s regular product line and which... were created by factory workers in their off hours. A long-time collector of Fenton Glass, Bill has extensive knowledge of Fenton production and rare pieces that are one of a kind. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a show-and-tell where they can bring their own Fenton pieces to share with others and to access Bill’s extensive knowledge of Fenton to learn about them.
