There's a lot to unpack here, so I'm not going to try to summarize, but it does sound like there are two different experiences going on for students. Some 2021 grads raring to go applied early (ED is up at highly selective colleges) and a larger than normal delayed group who are still likely to apply, but, for lots of reasons, may have missed some cues along the way. What it means is that we're likely looking at a LONG cycle of deferrals and waitlists this year.
