Today we honor those men and women who have served our country. We thank you for your service and your sacrifices. "What is your only comfort in life and in death? For centuries, believers have learned the Christian faith beginning with that question. Why start there? Because death is our common fate. Unless Jesus returns first, we will all die. To find comfort in life, we must know how we can face death. Hope comes only in trusting the one who died to take the curse of de...ath and who crushed the power of death by His resurrection. Christ has been raised from the dead (1 Cor 15:20). That is the only statement that can transform how we live each day and how we prepare for our earthly life to end. The hope of the resurrection spurs us to sing. There is no need to shrink back from mentioning death, because we know the Living One who has conquered death forever. The Christian can sing hallelujah, because Christ assures us of our glorious future. He is the King, and in His kingdom He rules over all men and every kingdom. Though each of these ebbs and flows at the sole discretion of His perfect will, God Himself never changes. His word, His character and His designs are as flawless and unchanging as His very nature. This song centers on the pillars of the gospel itself - Christ's incarnation, death and resurrection. Join us for our Family Fun Fest this Saturday (10/31) from 5pm-7:30pm. This a free event where we will have food (boxed meals prepared by people wearing masks and gloves-- while supplies last), a trunk or treat area, a wagon ride, and more. This event will be held entirely outside and we encourage all participants to be respectful of others and properly maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet or more. Please be aware, however, that while we are doing everything we can t...o minimize the risk of exposure to Covid-19 and other such infectious diseases there is risk involved in attending this event. By attending you are assuming responsibility for all such risks. While we would be honored to have you as our guests, we realize this event is not ideal for everyone (nor is it best for those at-risk) to attend. Please only attend at your own risk. If you are not feeling well or are exhibiting any signs or symptoms of Covid-19 please do not attend. With the election coming up and all the chaos that has brought to our world, I am constantly reminded that our God reigns.Then, now, and forever. He has no rival, no equal. He is alive and active. Regardless of the outcome, His plan will still unfold. So today, I encourage us all to take heart and be encouraged by the sovereignty of our God.
