On this day in 1945, Lutheran pastor, theologian and anti-Nazi dissident Dietrich Bonhoeffer was martyred at the hands of his Nazi captors for his involvement in a conspiracy to assassinate Adolf Hitler and overthrow the Third Reich. He was 39 years old.

Our member, Irene Amon, wishes to extend an invitation to join a book club with her Minnesota church. Here are the details: I want to inform you and the church of a book reading that my church in MN (Transfiguration Lutheran Church) will start on November 1, 2020. It's not a regular book club, but a process of healing from trauma. They are considering having it twice a month with some facilitated exercises. The book to be used is "My Grandmother's Hand" by Resmaa Menakem. A...s one of those interested in it, I was asked to share it with friends and family who may be interested too.
