FREE KITE KIT: Our new summer free kite kit program has begun. Though there is no Berkeley Kite Festival, we encourage everyone to fly kites on a micro level. Our mission is to encourage local residents to gather outdoors within their closest familiar/household circles and fly kites together. This can be done at parks and beaches throughout California. (All of this can be done while observing social distance and utilizing masks where appropriate.) In our small groups we will ...be connecting with the universal wind and flying higher together. And with a bit of luck, we will be reminded to keep looking up. SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCE AND ENCOURAGE OTHERS: We invite all of you to share your kite flying stories and experiences via social media networks of your choice, using the hashtag #BKF2020, #FreeKiteKits, or #KiteFestFreeKiteKits. In doing so, you will inspire others to get outdoors and fly a kite! We would also like to invite everyone in our community to share their Berkeley Kite Festival memories. 35 years of Berkeley Kite Festivals, thats a lot of memories. WHERE CAN I PICK UP MY FREE KITE KIT? Visit HighlineKites.com's Solar Powered Kite Shop on Wheels at the Berkeley Marina’s Cesar E Chavez Park on weekends between 1:30pm and 6:30pm (Children must be accompanied by an adult). Look for us at 11 Spinnaker Way, Berkeley CA. Please help us share this new program. We will keep giving away kites as long as our supply lasts.
