Highland Families, can we talk? We are a small, but mighty, group of parents, and teachers, who are looking for more active members to join us in promoting, and celebrating our children, and our school, through activities and fundraisers, while having a fun time doing it. Many of our long-term PTA members are leaving after this year, as their fifth graders move on to middle school, and your PTA absolutely cannot function without more parents to join our Board. As a PTA Board... member, you’ll have a voice to share your ideas and opinions on how we spend the funds during the school year for our activities, while making friends, and demonstrating to your child the importance you place on education. Your skills, knowledge, and background will be put to good use for a good cause! There are many different positions that will be available for the upcoming school year, and you may be the best fit for the job. Plus, there are many perks to joining the PTA Board, but if you want to know them, you’ll have to join first. . It’s not a lot of your time that we ask for...but it is just enough that you’ll definitely feel that you are making a difference in the lives of your child, and all of our Hawks! (And Dad’s, this isn’t a mom’s only club. We have Dad’s on our Board currently, so you won’t feel alone.) Our PTA Board meetings are held the last Tuesday of each month during the school year, at 6:00 p.m. for 1-1 1/2 hours. You don’t have to be a parent to join. Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Godparents, and older siblings 16 and up, can join the PTA, as well. Our next meeting will be February 26, in the Teacher’s Lounge. Just one meeting a month, and being dedicated to helping out during our events is all we ask for. Being involved in Highland’s PTA is a wonderful way to give of your time, and your talents, and we sincerely hope you will consider joining our fun, and passionate group! Last minute reminder that 5th grade baby pictures are due today, by 3:30 p.m. to be included in the yearbook!! Your student’s name, and teacher’s name, must be written on the back of the photo in ink (no sharpies, please) and placed in a envelope. Please do not call the office and ask for an extension. All pictures are due today. Please share with your 5th grade family members or friends. Thank you!
