Higher Heights Fellowship 27.12.2020

In celebration of Black History Month (BHM), we reflect on the many notable contributions made by many African-Americans throughout American history. Black history is American history and vice-versa. Dr. Martin Luther King challenged our people and our country to envision (dream) with him of a time within our nation where slavery and hatred is replaced by freedom and equality for all people. This challenge was predicated on the belief that there remained a much brighter futur...e than what we experienced in our past, as a people and as a nation. Dr. King's faith was the beacon of light and hope that energized him into actively pursuing and enlisting others in the pursuit of the "Dream". Let's not get it twisted, Dr. King stated that if this dream was going to be fulfilled, it was going to take all of us coming together to fight the ills of our nation, together. Although it may seem that we are facing a tumultuous time within our nation, still filled with hatred, discrimination, and segregation, Dr. King's words still ring true. Let's keep the dream alive. Let's keep the hope alive. Let's continue to push for equality and justice for all. Philippians 3:13-14 says, "Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the high call of God in Christ Jesus." I believe our high calling is still attainable, for our people and our nation. Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere!
