High Desert Horse Connection

Well, after checking with the county today, it is pretty clear McCall Park will not be open for Memorial Day. A new contract has been signed and everyone is wa...iting for the contractor to install the water tank. Dejavu all over again! Yep, disappointing as we approach the two year mark of the park being closed. As for me, I am using this break to travel. In May, we will be going to Mule Days in Bishop and to the Reno Mustang Make Over In June. While I'm hoping the park opens for the 4th of July this year, there are no guarantees. If you are looking for something fun to do in August, Bodie Day is August 12. We are planning on going again this year. If you have never gone, it is truly fantastic..Bodie has no camping in the park itself. There are some places to camp and keep your horse in Mammoth and Bridgeport but it will require prior arrangements and then trailoring your horses in and out of Bodie where you can ride your horse through town and be a part of the festivities.
