One of our greens brought a book with her to school today, Family Trip with Peppa Pig. In the story Peppa kept leaving his Teddy behind everywhere he went. I decided to hide the counters all over and have them find Teddy and match, shirt and group by colors! I was really amazed at how well our littles did and they had so much fun finding all the Teddys! Great impromptu story time and fun!

Putting their trumpets to use learning how to form their mouth and blow properly into a trumpet
After making our masks we headed to Inglewood’s Greek Theater to play! We learned how Greek actors would wear their masks and use large movements to express emotions so the audience could see. Our gems scattered around the theater to see where they could see and hear best. Gems played rounds of charades acting out emotions with little to no movement and with great big movements and masks to see if friends allllll the way in the back could guess what they were acting out
Learning about Greek Mythology. We learned about how they would make masks for theater plays so that the audience in the back could see facial expressions and better understand the characters emotions. We also learned that their masks were made in a way that helped amplify their voices. We made our own masks, each representing a different emotion. . See next post for what we did next
Learning about Greek mythology and how vases tell stories. Making our own vases in Inglewood’s outdoor Greek theater. . COVID has a shortage on supplies so we used glass vases, nail polish and permanent markers to tell our stories on our vases.
