Just in case you couldn't make it Sunday, stop by Hidden Valley Lake Realty for a copy for the 19th annual Night of Lights map and ballot!

It's probably no surprise that the Gingerbread Hidden Valley Village at 18991 Stonegate took first prize this year. There were so many familiar sites to see along with a ski slope and ski lift that we all wish was here in the real Hidden Valley Lake! The combination of theme, artistic ability and sentimentality just could not be beat and the voters all enjoyed this little bit of winter fantasy.

Seems like all of Santa's elves were busy at our second place house at 20286 Indian Rock. There was activity everywhere as the workshop was fully staffed Sunday evening. Good thing there was a live "reindeer" there to supervise everyone! She was so tired after the evening of visiting that she went to bed before we got there, so please post a picture of her if you have one from your visit.

In third place, the house at 19690 Donkey Hill displayed both elegance and tradition. Lovely lights on a giant tree and a bright star above the Nativity really brought Christmas to life for all to enjoy.

In forth place, the home at 19149 Colt Court caught everyone's imagination with lots of homemade decorations and lights that could be seen from the end of the cul-de-sac!

In fifth place, we have 19047 Deer Hill. Word back at the Stonehouse was that Santa was there for part of the evening and everyone seemed captivated by the cute penguins frolicking above their "lake".

The 19th annual Night of Lights was a cold, clear evening with no wind or rain, despite the rain on the days leading up to our event. From the historic Stonehouse, Carson and Julianne greeted over 275 cars as they drove through to pick up and drop off ballots between 5-8 Sunday evening. Turns out that 720 cookies wasn't even enough because we ran out far sooner than expected. Hidden Valley Lake Realty would like to thank all of the members of our community - both those that decorated and those that came out to visit and vote for our winners. This event is all about a community coming together to create magic for the kids. What a wonderful job Hidden Valley Lake did this year!

And in first place was the home at 19152 Colt Court! They just really outdid themselves this year! Throughout the evening, it was standing room only (and lots of little people) enjoying the magic that the Silva Family created! From the snow machine and the music to all of the familiar characters, it was really a home to see. They have committed to keeping it lit each night until Christmas, so feel free to drive by one evening if you missed it. Hidden Valley Lake Realty would like to offer a special thank you to all of the families on Colt Court who kept a smile during what could only be called a happy traffic jam. We appreciate the support and just want to remind everyone that this is one of the reasons we all love living in this fun community. For second place, voters chose the Gingerbread village at 18991 Stonegate. I hope you had time to pause and really enjoy the details! It seemed like all of Hidden Valley Lake was represented in this sentimental tribute to our community that was handmade by a family who appreciates living here! The love was obvious to all!

In third place for 2018, we have the house at 19149 Colt Court, part of several homes that were lovely on what some are now calling "Christmas Court"! Voters commented on how neatly everything was arranged and what a classic display it was. Joy, indeed!

In fourth place we have the house at 20286 Indian Rock with so much to see including a pumpkin coach being drawn by reindeer!

In fifth place, we have the house at 18534 Deer Hill Road! Voters were impressed with their two stories of lights and especially the star in the center of it all.

Last Sunday was our 18th annual Night of Lights and boy did we have fun! We began our route at the Stonehouse this year and felt as though it made more sense for the the voters. We had 58 dozen cookies on hand and ran out! We estimate over 300 cars went through the line to pick up ballots and vote this year. There were times when we couldn't see the end of the line! It is heartwarming to have not only the support of the families that went all out decorating, but also the ones in their cars letting their opinions be known. So without any further delay, here are your 2018 winners!

It probably comes as no surprise that our 2017 First place winner was the house at 18135 Bobcat Court. You literally could see the glow from blocks away! Always lovely, this year featured even more than any year previous and many voters were especially captivated by the bubbles. The Hoskins family has long been a supporter of the Hidden Valley Lake Realty Night of Lights and we appreciate them for all of their efforts each year, along with all the families who decorate and those who come out each year to vote. This event is one that all of us at Hidden Valley Lake Realty anticipate each year and the support that we receive from our community is what makes it so nice. Thank you everyone for all that you did to make the 2017 Night of Lights such a fun event for all.

Our 2017 Second place winner was 19152 Colt Court. With a walk-though area with lots familiar characters, a snow machine and blinking lights all set to music that you could tune into in your car, it was a full experience for all who drove by! Lots of people got out of their cars to fully take in the wonderland the Silva family created.

Our 2017 Third place winner was the gingerbread village at 19149 Colt Court. Lots of thought obviously went into the display that captured the sweet innocence of childhood and the dreams of holiday treats!

Our 2017 Fourth place winner was 20286 Indian Rock Road. Many voters commented on the sign that simply said, "We're home". After losing their home in the Valley Fire, it's a lovely sentiment that was heartfelt and touched many. The familiar elves busy working the the yard captivated young and old alike.

Our 2017 fifth place winner was 19786 Mountain Meadow South with their fully lit up fire truck, which felt especially moving given the local fire activity in the past few years. What a lovely tribute to all of our first responders and a reminder of all who have continued to be Valley Strong!

Our 17th Annual Night of Lights was such a joy to host! We were delighted that there were so many old friends who came by along with lots of newcomers this year. With over 300 ballots cast, it was by far the most attended event yet. We gave away over 600 cookies and so appreciated the patience of the folks who waited while we busily printed extra ballots. Thank you to all who attended and especially to our community members who went all out to decorate this year!

In first place, it probably comes as no surprise to anyone who voted that the house at 19152 Colt Court was a landslide victory. Featuring not only homemade decorations and oversized trees, but also synchronized music, it had something for the kid in all of us. Back at the country club, we heard rave reviews as we collected the ballots. Thank you so much to the Silvas for all of their hard work and devotion to the community and their neighborhood. And yes - that's their wires we posted earlier!

Since we've been doing this 16 years, we saw children literally growing up with this event as an annual family tradition that were in the driver's seat this year! When Carson dreamed up this event 16 years ago, we never dreamed that the community would embrace it to this extent. There are kids in Hidden Valley Lake who have never missed a year and couldn't wait to share it with their younger siblings this year. As far as we're concerned, anything that gets the family in t...he car together and the kids to put their phones down for a while is nothing short of a miracle. And to see those same kids so many years later pulling the family car up to collect a ballot is just so very, very nice. Thank you so much to all of Hidden Valley Lake - those who spend hours decorating and those who take a few hours to drive and pick their favorites. Without the community support, we'd be standing outside the country club with 600 cookies and 250 ballots by ourselves! This is one of the things that makes living here so unique and special! In second place, the house at 18420 Park Point Court did not disappoint. There were mischievous elves afoot and a list two stories high of the good kids of Hidden Valley Lake. Did you see your name there?

In third place, the community chose the house at 19149 Colt Court with its tasteful, traditional display. Voters commented that it was "just right" and gorgeously arranged.

And a first this year! A judge on a motorcycle!!!

We all were touched that one of the judges took the time to decorate his car for the drive!

Our fourth place winner was the house at 18792 Fernwood Road featuring untold hours of homemade cut-outs of the Peanuts gang and M&M's (maybe also peanuts?). Comments from the community indicated that everyone was impressed with the time and effort the homeowners put into personalizing their display!

Our fifth place winner took on a large corner parcel at 19895 Donkey Hill Road and decorated the entire thing! You get a glimpse of Santa's private home and also him delivering packages on his chopper!

This year over 250 ballots were collected and the 600 cookies ran out before 8PM. There were 25 houses on the ballot and the community came out in strong support of the event and their neighbors. But before we post the winners of the 2016 Night of Lights, we thought we would give a little insight of what goes on behind the scenes!

The votes have been tallied for the 2016 Night of Lights and winners will be told tonight! We will post the winners tomorrow after all winners know the results of the community's vote. And our grand prize for first place goes to: 18135 Bobcat Court who outdid their already amazing display from last year by including the magic of bubbles. The community was truly touched by the efforts of this family and each of the others that participated for their dedication.

Second place goes to: 19111 Moon Ridge Road with their giant candy canes and Star Wars theme that several people commented was especially timely this year with the new film coming out in a few weeks!

Third place goes to: 19152 Colt Court with their giant Christmas tree and music synchronized to match the lights!

Fourth place goes to: 19047 Deer Hill Road who decorated not just their whole yard, but also the roof and the entire front of the house!

Fifth place goes to: 18420 Park Point Court with their charming snow village complete with a snow machine!

Congratulations to all who participated in the 15th annual Night of Lights. This was our best, most attended year thus far and we are continually humbled by how our little community comes together. Over 200 ballots, 48 dozen cookies and untold dog treats later, we have the winners chosen by our neighbors here in Hidden Valley Lake. Drum roll please...
