The House tax bill eliminates the spousal support deduction to be a family friendly bill though it doesn’t change the amount of tax collected. No worries here as my preference is to name it an equalization of property payment and deny the government the tax and keep the money in the family. That’s family friendly. Pay less tax and keep it in the family. Also the IRS doesn’t like front loaded support plans, but name it a support trust and government gets out of your house. Don’t be a subject of government social engineering.

The new GOP tax proposal in the house would eliminate the tax deduction that divorcees receive on their payments to ex-spouses.
