A Will a legal document where state how you want your stuff distributed upon your passing. It also allows you to state who you want in charge of following your directions and allows you to nominate guardians for your minor children. A Will is signed by you and witnessed by two people. A Will goes through probate court. Probate court is:... 1. Very expensive $$$$ 2. Takes a long time (1-2 years) 3. Public proceeding (anyone can find out what you owe, who you owe money to and who your beneficiaries are) So yes....anyone over the age of 18 should have a Will, BUT.... a Will is probably not enough and you should look into also using a Trust.
