This week we are recognizing Nicole Raised in Davis, Nicole spent much of her childhood in her family rice fields. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from St. Mary's of California. Nicole found that one of the most valuable lessons she learned while attending McGeorge's School of Law in Sacramento was, "The purpose of life is a life of purpose." Nicole takes great pleasure in serving the needs of her clients and has earned the trust of her team in always... exceeding her professional goals. Nicole and her husband Alex were married in March so thankfully they were able to have the wedding before COVID restrictions. Nicole's greatest pleasures are being outside, cooking and spending time with her family and furry friend, Pippa. We asked Nicole a few fun questions after the Halloween weekend If you had a parrot what would you teach it to say? Don’t forget your mask! You would think that 6+ months into this pandemic I would remember to pack a mask before leaving the house, but nope!! What was the first concert you attended? When I was in 7th grade, my brother and I went to see the Zac Brown Band at Raley Field in Sacramento. It was an absolute blast and got me hooked on concerts! Attending Stagecoach is on my bucket list! What is the best thing about being 5’2? I love being 5’2. I save a lot of money on clothes and shoes by shopping in the kids section! Favorite Halloween candy? I’m a sucker for anything sour! Favorite Halloween costume you ever wore? Swipe to see her favorite Halloween costume! See more

This week we want to recognize Tiffany Montre Tiffany graduated from California State University, Chico in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness and a Minor in Marketing. She quickly fast-tracked her career through a variety of agribusiness administrative positions eventually leading her to the Heritage team. Tiffany holds a Master's of Education in Agricultural Education and is an active member of the California Women for Agriculture. What is your favor...ite camp food? Any dinner cooked over a campfire. I love Tri Tip, especially when I get to eat it next to a campfire. We have a tradition when we camp and each time, we go for a weenie roast and explore further into the mountains, light a fire, and roast hot dogs with a willow branch. Of course, eating them by the fire. Dog or Cat person? Dog Favorite Travel Spot? I love the outdoors and looking at a beautiful view. So, I’d have to say Idaho or Wyoming. If you could be anyone from any time period who would it be and why? The 20’s I just love their outfits. If your house was burning down, what is the one non-living thing you would save? Pictures. What is on your bucket list? To visit Banff National Park in Canada Fun Fact: Tiffany and her husband, Kasey, live in Orland with their two daughters, Adalynn and Olivia. They love the outdoors, hunting, camping, and spending time with family and friends. Every year they look forward to their annual camping trip to Idaho where they scout for wildlife, fly fish, hike, and visit with family from across the country See more

NATIONAL FARMER’S DAY offers much-deserved praise to the hard-working farmers across the nation. In the midst of harvest-season, the day pays tribute to the men, women, and families who put food in the grocery stores and on our tables every day. From very early in American culture, farmers set an example with their endless hard work. Not only do they provide a nation with the food we eat, but they also contribute to our economy in numerous ways. Before seeds even find their way into the ground, farmers supply a stream of jobs. From manufacturing, marketing, and tourism, farmers keep small and large communities going strong. October does seem fitting for celebrating this National Day as it is near the end of the harvest. Many farmers will be able to take a rest from their hard labor to join in the celebration of this holiday.

This week we are highlighting one of our agency’s highly experienced and dedicated insurance advisors, Kimball Shirey. His deep ties in the community include: Business Networking International-Chico Founders Chapter, Secretary/Treasurer, Current Vice President and Past President Paradise Chamber of Commerce, and Past President Paradise Ex...change Club. We asked Kimball a few fun questions for the weekend Are you more of the sweet or savory type? I am definitely a savory guy with a palate for rich as well as flavorful and spicy food. No sweet tooth here. What’s your most guilty pleasure? I love spending time with my love in the Marina area of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. What was the tastiest food you’ve ever eaten? So many choices...First one to come to mind was a fresh grilled Mahi-mahi in a saffron cream sauce served on a bed of Spanish rice. What should not be missing in your kitchen? My amazing wife Mary who is my Sous-Chef Fun fact: Kimball and his wife, Mary, own Spencer Shirey Wines and are members of the Sierra Oro Farm Trail and North Sierra Wine Trail See more
