Hello HMS Families! Can you believe it's nearly spring?! Registration packets have already gone home for the 2021-2022 school year and now it's time to think about what your kids will be doing over the summer! HMS offers half, 3/4, and full-day summer programs. And, new this year, we're offering summer programs at both our Preschool and Elementary. Please remember there are different schedules for the Preschool and the Elementary: PRESCHOOL: No school Friday, February 12th & No school Monday, February 15th. Minimum day Friday, February 19th. Hello HMS & HMES families! Registration for 2021/2022 School Year is open now to currently enrolled families! Our programs fill up quickly and we recommend securing a space for your child as soon as possible! Registration will open up to the public on Monday, March 1st.

Hello HMS Families! Just a quick reminder...Little Lamb Cookie Dough orders are due Wednesday, February 10. Orders will be ready for pick-up mid-March (more info to come) allowing plenty of time to deliver to friends and family! Remember, all funds raised will go toward the purchase of new materials for the classrooms and playgrounds. Thank you for your participation in our Spring fundraiser!

Merry Christmas

It is with great sadness that I announce that HMES has a student who has tested positive for COVID19. We were informed of this yesterday. Following CDC and Kern County Public Health Department guidelines, we will be closing the LOWER ELEMENTARY class down, effective Tuesday, December 8. We will reopen on January 4, 2021. Lessons for the lower elementary children will be provided in packets and via See Saw. Mrs. Nehr will provide additional details regarding the pick up times... for packets, etc. Pajama Day will be rescheduled to February. The UPPER ELEMENTARY class (grades 4-5), as a separate cohort, will remain OPEN. As a reminder, as we approach the holiday season, please use an abundance of caution when socializing with both family and friends. If you choose to travel out of town during the holidays or attend large gatherings in town, we ask that you voluntarily self-quarantine for 14 days on your return. This would mean that if you engage in New Year's celebrations out of town or in a large gathering locally, that you keep your child home until Monday, January 18. Learning packets will be available to children who are quarantined during this time and can be picked up on Monday, January 4. If you know in advance that you will be quarantining after the holidays, please let the school know so that the teachers know how many packets to prepare. Parents who follow the 14-day quarantine will have their parent-teacher conferences deferred to a later date. This is a request for caution out of my concern for not only our students, but for the teachers and staff, as well. Please be mindful that individual actions can affect the community as a whole. We truly appreciate your understanding. This is a very difficult time for all of us. Hello HMS Community! We're all getting back to school and back into the swing of things after the Thanksgiving holiday break. Just before the break, our classrooms got together to kick the holiday season off right with gift bags for the residents at Bella Sera. We made 65 gift bags with items donated by our HMS parents. Things like socks, hats, gloves, word search books, crossword puzzles, chocolates, teas and various other items were beautifully packaged up by our kids and delivered to Bella Sera on Friday, November 20.
