We know Coronavirus (COVID-19) has impacted many parts of your life and we are eager to welcome you back to the gallery when the time comes. For now, we must make the health and safety of our friends and crew members our top priority and we will continue to take guidance from health agencies and government officials. Though we felt it important to celebrate our upcoming exhibit 'Dreamland' by artist Victor Castillo. The exhibit was scheduled to open this evening and Val Kilme...r and the crew here have been working hard with Victor and all of the artists scheduled to exhibit at HelMel to create something even more special in the months to come and we have some exciting announcements coming. While we were very much looking forward to this crisis being past us, we do want to share some wonderful photos of artist Victor Castillo, in his studio, working on his 'Dreamland' series. Postponing the exhibit has opened new possibilities and greater focus for all of the upcoming artists and we can't wait for you to join us in celebrating their art and to escape and be inspired by their extraordinary worlds. It comes as no surprise we have postponed the exhibit 'Dreamland' by artist Victor Castillo, due to Covid-19 quarantine. We will be sharing new details soon, as we all take this time to stay safe. In the meantime, Val Kilmer and Victor Castillo wanted to share a beautiful peek inside the artist's studio and some of the series being finished. We can't wait to see you all and share the collective love for art. No matter the medium, art allows us to express ourselves and illustr...ate the world around us in a different light, helping us to gain understanding, build communities, and give hope. Sunday, Nov 3 artist Bosko Hrnjak will be in studio from 1-3PM. Learn about the process of his most recent series of paintings. Unlike his earlier pieces now the gestural form is more expressive and the color no longer functions as just a field but is locked into the flow. The edge between dark value and color fold into one another, the color and shape are both breaking out from the picture plane and collapsing in on itself.
