Happy World Mental Health Day! Lets chat about self care! We ALL need to give ourselves a little more love and attention than we tend to do. Here is my favorite way to create a list of activities/things that I love and help me feel relaxed and happy - create a list from your FIVE senses - things you love to smell, look at, taste, touch and hear. ... It’s such a helpful reminder and a mindful way to enjoy things easily accessible in your life!!This is a great list to create with kiddos too! Here are a few of my own: Fresh lemon and Flowers Nature and Sunsets Ice Cream Soft blankets and petting my animals Ocean and rain

I AM statements can literally help strengthen your brain It’s true! The more positive statements you give yourself, the stronger your prefrontal cortex gets! Think of I AM statements like exercise for your brain!

What is Peccatophobia? Peccatophobia is the fear of sinning or wrongdoing. The origin of the word pecca is Latin (meaning to sin or commit a crime) and phobia is Greek (meaning fear). Peccatophobia is considered to be a specific phobia, which is discussed on the home page. Peccatophobia is also called Peccatiphobia and related to Hamartophobia (fear of sinning) and Enissophobia/Enosiophobia (which both mean fear of criticism or committing a sin). http://common-phobias.com/Peccato/phobia.htm

Struggling with perfectionism or know someone who is? Come check out my friend Tracy as she talks about the challenges and management of perfectionism. I am seeing more and more of this with my adolescent clients This will be great info and it’s free!

Oh so true. This reminds me so many clients I’ve seen. Feeling stuck and miserable in any relationship is such an unhealthy way to live. I’ve had couples come in just for the support with ending their relationship. That takes strength and I respect that. Esther Perel is a fabulous Marriage and Family Therapist. I love her work!
