A perfect day for painting in the park! Yesterday, we hosted our first socially distant, outdoor #HOLAVisualArts class in the green space beside our new Arts and Recreation Building. It was an incredible moment to be present with our students and to witness their inspirational creativity in this way. We hope to offer more opportunities to connect safely in the future!

In the wake of COVID-19, we are seeing that stability threatened. More incidences of income loss and food insecurity have been reported by our families than ever before. In addition to the normal challenges of adapting to online school, students from our neighborhood are often tackling adult hardships. They wonder; will there b...e enough laundry detergent? Will this food last the week? HOLA has expanded its programming to alleviate this anxiety for our students. Our Essentials Pantry adds to our weekly grocery distribution program to provide our families with household essentials and protect the stability so often threatened in a crisis. Each item on this list has been requested by our HOLA families who are our constant partners as we navigate how to best make an impact. From thermometers to cleaning supplies you can instantly make a difference and help a family with their essential needs during this difficult time.

HOLA is proud to honor girls in sports as both athletes and coaches! Thanks to our incredible community partners like Farmer John and Los Angeles Football Club, we are able to continue to serve our youth through our virtual Athletics classes.
