Do you know how to treat a burn all while staying protected under California Good Samaritan Law? Here are things you should absolutely NOT do when helping a burn victim. What NOT to do to a major burn 1. Don’t use ice, ice water or even very cold water. It can further damage the tissue. Instead, cover the burn with a clean towel/sheet. 2. Don’t treat an open burn with water. Exposing an open burn to water can cause bacteria.... 3. Don’t apply butter, ointments or sprays. Greasy substances can cause infection. 4. Don’t remove clothing that is stuck to the skin or try to peel away dead or blistered skin. This can cause more damage and infection. 5. Don’t give a severely burned person anything by mouth or place a pillow under someone’s head if there is an airway burn. This can cause airway obstruction. firstaid #safetyfirst #beprepared #firstaidkit #awareness #treatburns
