Fear often grasps ahold of our hearts, especially in uncertainty. However, God has established that our trust should be completely given over to Him at all times. The enticement of fear that calls out to us in the midst of any disorder or chaos is paralyzing and leads us toward destruction. The antidote to inaction and fear is faith in God.... http://horizoncommunity.com//god-is-our-guide-respond-wit/

Just as we talked about New Years and New Resolutions last week, we are reminded by the Epiphany of the Lord, that our praise and devotion must be made new daily, even in the cycle of life. Often, we allow our praises and prayer to become routine and rote, However, we must remember that the God we serve is worthy of our prayers, and just as we have new experiences, and new reasons for prayer and praise, we must incorporate that into our worship life and not hold anything back.... http://horizoncommunity.com//our-praise-needs-to-be-new-a/

Isaiah 42:10-17 God's entrance into the world is a reason for rejoicing and proclaiming His wondrous deeds. God will triumph, and we must give Him the praise and honor, and all things of this world will pass away, but God and His Kingdom are eternal; therefore, we must keep ourselves from putting anything above God in our hearts and minds.... http://elpisandshalom.com//our-praise-needs-to-be-new-and/

Good Morning Horizon Community! Just as we talked about New Years and New Resolutions last week, we are reminded by the Epiphany of the Lord, that our praise and devotion must be made new daily, even in the cycle of life. Often, we allow our praises and prayer to become routine and rote, However, we must remember that the God we serve is worthy of our prayers and just as we have new experiences, and new reasons for prayer and praise, we must incorporate that into our worship ...life and not hold anything back. The purpose of prayer and praise is to honor God, and not to simply check items off the to do list. Therefore worship must be an expression of our utmost devotion, and we must have an undivided loyalty to God. Isaiah warns Judah of the results of divided loyalty, and that the people must always serve God far above and beyond any other objects or items clamoring for our devotion. Join us for worship this morning at 11 am. Sermon: "Our Praise Needs To Be New, Our Loyalty Needs To Be Undivided"Scripture: Isaiah 42:10-17 The service is available on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CdksJ3Y9bEQ

Good Morning Horizon! This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it! All around us, we can find reasons to be distressed. Division based on politics, societal and social unrest, a global pandemic, all are circumstances that lead us to question what God is doing for us, but no matter how we "feel," God is present with us and works for our benefit. However, we are easily distracted and led away to find a solution outside of trusting and obeying God. The e...ntire book of Isaiah is a warning against that. God calls us toward worship, and our worship is only for God and nothing else. No promise that we find in any advertisement is as true as the promise we have in God! Join us as we look at Isaiah 26 this morning. Worship is available on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axlCHiTtkJE

For many years, we have been attending church without realizing that our calling goes beyond just attending church, but instead, to be the church. Being the church requires us to recognize who we are, recognize our sin, and recognize that our humanity is an asset as we approach our community with the Gospel. As we look through the first five chapters of Isaiah, we see that God admonishes Israel for not being any different than the world around them, and, unfortunately, this will lead to consequences. We invite you to worship this morning. Worship is a vital aspect of the church, and we give our imperfect gift to the King of Kings. We remain connected to God, and we must remember that nothing comes before the Almighty. Rather than worshipping our earthly leaders, we pray for them no matter their party affiliation. We pray for the health of all those on the campaign trail and ask God's blessing and health over them. Worship cannot be something that divides us, but our faith... must bring us together because we recognize that God is the true Creator and object of our worship. This week we are introduced to who Isaiah is, and how God uses this fallible human to share an infallible truth to the world. We are called to Focus our eyes upon the messenger the King of Kings sends and how that calling establishes us as the perfect instrument to play the message of God's grace for the world. Isaiah received his call from the triune God. This week, we will look at his response to being in the presence of the Almighty and Holy God. Before responding to God's call, Isaiah confesses his sin and his nation's sin, at which point God intervenes and deals with Isaiah's sin, and prepares the prophet for ministry. I encourage you to read or listen to our scripture today and prepare your hearts for worship tomorrow.

One word defines our time, DIVISION. People are at odds with one another because they worship, dress, cook, or work differently. If there is more than one way of doing something, there will be an argument over it; as a people, we fight with one another... http://elpisandshalom.com/20//27/god-doesnt-give-up-on-us/

A question we may ask when looking at our nation; Is this even worth redeeming? How should the church look at our surrounding world? We see hatred and violence; we see a world with rampant problems with justice, corruption, greed, and violence. As we look at the world, we wonder, is it worth saving? As Isaiah looked at Israel, he was dismayed at the injustice, the lack of desire to serve God, the casting aside the orphans and widows, and selfishness that Israel had been practicing. This past week we remembered a terrible attack on our country on September 11, 2001, where thousands of people lost their lives, and countless others had their lives changed forever because of this tragedy. One thing that was true then, just as it is today, God is PRESENT, and God brings hope to a people that are hopeless and in need of God's healing. Today, we are surrounded by tragic catastrophes. The West is on fire with many lost homes and even more, have been evacuated f...rom their homes; we still are coping with a pandemic, we as a country are still dealing with civil unrest, and right around the corner we have an election that is quite contentious. Any of these things on their own might feel too much to handle, but altogether on top of the things that pop up might cause us to lose hope. At this moment we need to listen to the prophets' messages because Israel and Judah were facing catastrophic circumstances that led to the loss of life, loss of homes, and a loss of their nations. Joel comes to us with an answer for us, "Turn to God in TRUE worship." This worship is not about outward appearance but is about fully turning our hearts and minds to God, giving up the worldly answers for the answers that only God can give. Come worship with us today, as we examine Joel's message. We will be on YouTube TODAY at 11am at the link below, and afterward please join us on Zoom for a time of fellowship. We will be sharing the YouTube video on Zoom as well at 11am. YouTube: https://youtu.be/umy35RjPW-k

Our state has been devastated with fire, and one step outside and we see the negative effects and pain caused by the destruction caused by the mighty fires. Let us take a moment to pray, for our state, for those that have lost their homes, for those that have lost their lives, for the scorched Earth, for the brave firefighters, and for us as we remember that God is ultimately in control. May God's grace fall upon us today, and may God bring healing to the Earth.

The church is called to fulfill the mission of the prophet in the world, a mission that warns, exhorts, encourages, and comforts. This week we turn to one of the minor prophets, Hosea to teach and inform our mission. Hosea had a tough mission, one that shows how we as people, even those of us in the church have not been faithful to God in the way we have lived and existed in the world. We have given our allegiance, worship, and faith to things that are of the world, but God d...emands that we place our trust fully in Him and that our worship must be directed only to the Almighty God. Through our repentance and trust in God, we inform our ministry and direct the world to follow our lead. Our mission brings hope, peace, love, joy, and devotion through God alone. Let us hear about Hosea's message of REDEMPTION and HOPE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i912GVyVYqo

This is the day the Lord has made, let us REJOICE and be glad in it! This week we begin our series on the PROPHETS. They are not fortune tellers, Las Vegas Linemakers, or witches, but rather they are God's selected messengers to His people. They are the ones that go forth and bring the Words of God to the people so that they can act upon them. The prophet's life has a lot to teach us about how we interact with God, and the world. I invite you to join us as we examine the lif...e of Jeremiah, one of the major prophets, and as we worship God today. The service will be available on YouTube: https://youtu.be/a4i0WFmgLI8
