The third HBPL employee off to retirement this week is Miss Barbara from the Children’s Library! Miss Barbara has worked at HBPL for an astonishing 32 years. She is a beloved storyteller in the Children’s Library, and has been the fearless leader of the Youth Services team for over a decade. We will greatly miss her dedication, enthusiasm, and spirit! Do you have a favorite memory with Miss Barbara, or well wishes for her retirement? Leave them in the comments below!

Continuing our celebration of amazing HBPL employees moving on to their retirement, we have Technical Services Librarian extraordinaire, Christine. Christine is an expert cataloguer, a reference whiz, and a cultural maestro. In her nearly 20 years with HBPL, Christine has changed the landscape of the library’s collection, championing foreign cinema and the creation of adult programs inspired by popular and classical culture. Congratulations and best wishes to Christine! Share your favorite memory and well wishes in the comments.

This Friday, the library has 5 amazing employees retiring! Today, we recognize Bonnie, our amazing technical services clerk at the Central Library. Bonnie is the go-to person for new books, interlibrary loans, and any questions you might have about damaged items. You might have also met Bonnie at the Borrower Services Desk, where she helped sign folks up for library cards, pay fines, and much much more! Bonnie has worked with HBPL for 20 years, first coming on board in 2000. Do you have a favorite memory with Bonnie? Share it in the comments!
