Meet our clients! Mr. Luis Garnica has been a client of Haven Neighborhood Services since 2017. Mr. Garnica has worked side by side with Lindsey Flores as his Credit Counselor in order to address his identity theft issues. Unfortunately, he suffered with identity theft during the time he moved to Mexico. Lindsey and Mr. Garnica have worked restless hours in order to successfully remove all of the fraudulent accounts on his report! Meet our clients! Mrs. Trifina Barrera is a hard-working woman that lives in the City of Los Angeles. Mrs. Barrera became a homeowner over 25 years ago. She came to Haven Neighborhood Services when she was experiencing a foreclosure on her house. With the help from her housing Counselor (Georgina Gonzalez), she was able to stop the sale date by applying for a mortgage assistance program through the California Housing Finance Agency called Keep Your Home California which saved her home and provided an affordable home modification payment plan that she can afford. Meet our clients! Mr. Hines Buchanan is a US Veteran temporarily homeless and residing at the West Los Angeles VA. Mr. Buchanan came into Haven Neighborhood Services wanting to learn more about his credit and what he can do to increase his credit score. Through the help from his financial coach (Georgina Gonzalez), Mr. Buchanan was able to apply for a secured credit card to start him on his way to financial success! We are excited to welcome our newest intern Mayel Tapia-Fregoso to the team! I am a third-year student studying political science at the University of Oregon with aspirations to attend law school. I would describe myself as an open-minded, hard-working person eager to interact and connect with individuals on a personal level. I am confident that I can significantly contribute to Haven Neighborhood Services’ mission to expand the accessibility of financial education and other... services to vulnerable communities. The LA County COVID-19 Rent Relief application will open on August 17, 2020, for income-eligible renters in Los Angeles County. This program is open to renters in Los Angeles County, with the exception of residents living in the City of Los Angeles. Eligible renters must qualify based on income and have struggled to pay rent, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
