Maria knows a total of seven different QA positions, all lines - Chuck, Rib, Loin (both strips and tops & tenders), Round, AQL inspection, Offline #2, and Portion Control. Maria has a great attitude, is willing to cover any job she knows when needed, will cover more than one job at a time and goes above and beyond to help and ensure the job gets done. Maria is very professional and has a great relationship with other QA and Production employees. This is an extra special spotlight today because Maria is retiring after 25 years with the Harris Ranch Beef Company. We can't say THANK YOU enough for all the years you've given the company Maria. Harris Ranch Beef Company is looking for a Human Resource Recruiter who is highly organized and motivated with a positive, cooperative, can-do attitude and the ability to function as part of a team. Responsibilities Collaborating with HR Manager and production managers to determine staffing needs Screening resumes... Responsible for successful onboarding process for new hires Performing in-person and phone interviews with candidates Administering appropriate company assessments Performing reference and background checks Accurate completion and verification of I-9 documentation Coordinating and performing interviews Following up on the interview process status Maintaining relationships with both internal and external clients to ensure staffing goals are achieved Communicating employer information and benefits during screening process Staying current on the company’s organization structure, personnel policy, and federal and state laws regarding employment practices Serving as a liaison with area employment agencies, colleges, and industry associations Conducting orientation training Completing timely reports on employment activity Reviewing exit interviews and other internal data to identify areas of improvement and deficiencies in the onboarding and retention of candidates and employees. Place beef Flank Steak and marinade in food-safe plastic bag; turn steak to coat. Close bag securely and marinate in refrigerator 6 hours or as long as overnight, turning occasionally. Remove steak from marinade; discard marinade. Place steak on rack of broiler pan so surface of beef is 2 to 3 inches from heat. Broil 13 to 18 minutes for medium rare (145F) to medium (160F) doneness, turning once. Cook's Tip: To grill, place steak on grid over medium, ash-covered coals. Grill covered, 11 to 16 minutes (over medium heat on preheated gas grill, 16 to 21 minutes) for medium rare (145F) to medium (160F) doneness, turning occasionally. Meanwhile, cook onion and remaining 2/3 cup balsamic vinaigrette in medium saucepan over medium heat, uncovered, 8 to 10 minutes or until onion is tender. Remove from heat. Carve steak diagonally across the grain into thin slices; top with onion.

The Harvest employee will perform a combination of tasks in initial step of the meat processing facility. Tasks include, but are not limited to the following: Cut, trim, skin, sort, and wash viscera of slaughtered animals to separate edible portions from offal. Slit open, eviscerate, and trim carcasses of slaughtered animals. Sever jugular veins to drain blood and facilitate slaughtering. Shave or singe carcasses, and wash them in preparation for further processing or packaging. Shackle hind legs of animals to raise them for slaughtering or skinning. Skin sections of animals or whole animals. Use tools and machinery including, but not limited to, knives, wrap products, scales, grinders, and other hand or power tools. Position Requirements: Routine tasks include, but are not limited to, performing the following: Ability to work in temperatures greater than or equal to 90 degrees Fahrenheit temperature for minimum of 8 hours. Ability to work around blood and other strong odors. Ability to perform physically intensive activities and/or exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry objects. Knowledge of general work safety practices and personal protective equipment. With the seasons changing it's time to get out the slow cooker and enjoy a stress-free, easy dinner tonight. Using beef shoulder as the star of the show will ensure a hearty and delicious crowd pleaser. Check out this recipe courtesy of the Beef Check Off: INGREDIENTS: 1 beef Shoulder Roast Boneless (2-1/2 pounds)... 2 cups chopped onions 1 can (14-1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes with green peppers and onions 1 cup frozen hash brown potatoes (cubes) 1 cup reduced-sodium beef broth 1 tablespoon minced garlic 1 teaspoon dried thyme 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper 2 cups broccoli slaw 1/2 cup frozen peas . COOKING: Cut beef Shoulder Roast into 12 equal pieces. Place in 4-1/2 to 5-1/2-quart slow cooker. Add onions, tomatoes, potatoes, broth, garlic, thyme, salt and pepper. Cover and cook on HIGH 5 to 6 hours or on LOW 8 to 9 hours or until beef is fork-tender. (No stirring is necessary during cooking.) Stir in broccoli slaw; continue cooking, covered, 30 minutes or until broccoli slaw is crisp-tender. Turn off slow cooker. Stir in peas; let stand, covered, 5 minutes. Maria is one of the "Pack Off" pros and can run any position. She is an integral member of the cook plant and has grown with it through the legacy days and the challenging "Columbus" deli meat start up. Maria is here every day with a smile and ready to work.
