What happens when you have an aluminum hatch bolted down with stainless steel fasteners without Tef-gel and the hatch ring put down without caulking, such as TDS 440. It may have had some Dolphinite, but I'm not a big fan of using it as a sealant for large metal pieces. Also the deck boards were right up against the aluminum ring which damaged the ends of the planks. Therefore we are going to install a margin board around the hatch ring, inlet half way into the planks to help capture them and create a nice seal. I will post the finished product some time next week.

1968 The birth of Harbor Boat Repair's new location at 377 Francisco Blvd. in San Rafael. My Dad and Buzz with the help of the pile driver crew, built the slip for the new Acme Travelift.

In 1957, my Dad and his partner Buzz Wise start Harbor Boat Repair in San Rafael, Ca. In 1980 I bought out my Dad's partner and we operated it until 1993 when the dredging of the San Rafael canal was discontinued, thus putting us out of business do to shallow waters keeping customers from reaching us.
