Dear CNUSD Families, We hope our t-track students had a wonderful spring break and took time to rest and relax. Today, we want to provide you an update regard...ing our hybrid models and our continued commitment to maximize in-person instruction to the greatest extent possible with the newest public health guidelines allowing 3-feet distancing in the classroom. Yesterday, Riverside County officially entered the Orange Tier as cases in our community have continued to drop. As we stated in our last community newsletter on Friday, March 26, we have expanded our current hybrid models and schedule to reflect the recent change in public health guidance from 6-feet to 3-feet between students in the classroom receiving in person instruction. The new schedules outlined below will begin Monday, April 12, 2021. Elementary: - Kindergarten: Kinder will remain split into two cohorts and attend Monday-Friday for 2 hours in the morning. (bell schedules vary by school site). - 1-6 Grade: Cohorts A and B will be combined, and all students will attend Monday-Friday for 4 hours and 15 minutes. Students will receive a 15-minute nutrition break in which they will be provided a free breakfast snack by Child Nutrition Services, or they may bring their own from home. They will also be allotted brain breaks throughout the day. All students will also receive a grab-and-go lunch at the end of the day. Secondary: - Intermediate: Cohorts A & C and B & D will be combined to form two cohorts. All students will attend Monday-Friday for a half day schedule. Class Periods 1-6 will be 35 minutes long and alternate days. Period 7 will be 20 minutes long, everyday. - High School: Cohorts A & C and B & D will be combined to form two cohorts. All students will attend Monday-Friday for a half day schedule. Class Periods will be 45 minutes long and alternate days. Please see models below. Scholars in Maestra Perez’s DLI class were very busy today. After spending time learning about different habitats, they continued learning about Día de los muertos. Scholars learned new vocabulary words and learned the meaning of the sugar skulls. They ended their day by decorating their own sugar skull. This activity was engaging and very yummy!
