Happy Hats for Kids in Hospitals

I have had the honor of passing out Happy Hats to our patients for a year and a half now. From the very beginning, I have had the pleasure of seeing children smile when I give them the Hero hat, Hero books and crayons. Seeing the children wear the hats not only helps them get through their experience at the hospital, but it also provides enjoyment for the doctors and nurses to see their patients smile and have as much of a good time as they possibly can. Being hospitalized can be a traumatic experience for children and their families. The kids may feel fearful, depressed, lonely and/or bored during their hospital stay. Family members feel stressed, too. Our joy-filled gifts make life brighter for patients, families and staff. When patients and their families see their doctors wearing a Happy Hat, it makes them smile instantly! Family members have stated our gifts go home with the children and continue their purpose of helping the children thrive during their healing process. I cannot express how thankful I am for the Happy Hats gift packages. Hospitalization can be a very scary and boring experience for children and adolescents, so having activities to keep them distracted and occupied makes the hospital experience more enjoyable.
