Hi everyone! Stay safe and hydrated out in the heat this weekend! If you have an extra water bottle and you are heading out of your house I know there are a LOT of homeless men women and children that can not escape the heat and would really appreciate the gesture! Love to all!

We want to take this moment to remember and thank God for our very own Deputy Dan. Most of you who have been with us for a while know exactly who Dan is. It's with a sad heart that we bring the news that Dan's several year battle with cancer came to an end a couple days ago. I have been trying to find the right words to say. He was one of the few that showed the homeless respect despite their vices and helped us for years at the park. He is the reason I was able to take two 9... year old homeless girls to disneyland with me one year. They had never even been to a movie in their lifetime let alone an experience like disneyland. Dan gave me tickets to take them. I will cherish the memories of standing by his police car talking to him at the park. The kindness he showed to all of us as we tried to get people off the street. He called me right after I found out I had cancer last year to offer a few words of advice. Even though I did not get to see him much the last two years since we moved here is my thank you and may you rest in peace my friend! This is a picture of Dan and his beautiful wife. See more

Calling all volunteers!!!! Tomorrow and Friday I will be working at our Dukes Toy Store location getting things ready for Saturday! Most of you do not know but I have been extremely sick with Pnumonia so I am behind this year. I need all the help I can possibly get to have everything set up in time. If you have any time to spare from 9:30am to 7:30pm tomorrow or Friday would you please text me (texting is better than calling as it is hard for me to talk) and I will send you d...etails? I need help putting out toys and setting up as well as getting the clothing organized. If you are not signed up to volunteer at the event itself but want to come help on Saturday please contact Snookie Groen and she will get you plugged in for Saturday. Looking for a volunteer! Today or tomorrow I need someone that would be willing to go to the trailer parks in Bellflower (I will send you the specific one's, there are only a few of them we really want to help). I will send you family applications for Christmas and we need someone that can go hand them out at the trailer parks. If you can speak Spanish at all that is a big help but if not that's completely fine! My plan was to get here from Colorado and go today and tomorrow ...to hand out applications but I ended up with Bronchial pneumonia instead. I am here in California but completely stuck for at least a few days now while I get past this little hickup. I really need the help if anyone can get the applications out for me! I need to finalize our list so that we can be in contact with all families and get them appointment times for Dukes Toy store! Please text me if you can help 310-482-7437.
