17 years later we are still heartbroken by the loss, humbled by the sacrifice, and reminded that freedom isn't free and that tomorrow isn't promised. We may move on, but we will never forget. 9-11.

Today America said goodbye to one of its heroes. John Glenn inspired a generation to reach for the stars, and we are saddened to return him to them. We must honor his wishes, and solemnly rededicate ourselves to the good of all.

It is a sad day for all of Bakersfield as we have lost a truly remarkable man and talented musician..Merle Haggard has passed away at the age of 79. On behalf of the entire hotel we wish to send condolences to the Haggard family during this very difficult time. Rest in peace Merle, you will be missed.
