In August 2018 we were introduced to Witny, who had a heart to feed the widows and elderly in his hometown village of Labok. This short video is a testimony of God’s faithfulness and provision. If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. Luke 16:10 For the last three years HEF has been supporting this ministry in twelve villages with over 100 recipients monthly.... video credit- Rodberry Jacques See more

This is a short video of our recent activity and project in the village, Rincon. We recently completed the construction of a new school, built new student desks, and a 50,000 gallon water cistern. Rincon is one of HEF-Maranatha 17 churches and 13 schools. We want to thank Kérold (project manager), Rodberry & Lizzy (video credit), and Pastor Iliobert & Marie. Also, THANK YOU to all of our faithful HEF partners and Friends of Haiti! To God be the Glory!

UPCOMING YOUTH CAMP- February 13-17th Due to Haiti’s unrest and COVID restrictions, it’s been a year since we’ve been able to have a young’s camp (the last was Feb. 2020). And even though there is still COVID and unrest, Hinche has been holding a stance of peace, and we are moving forward with February’s youngs camp!... We have 163 youth registered, along with 34 leaders from all the Maranatha churches that we train to run the camps. This year’s theme is Kite Limye’w Briye, or Let Your Light Shine, and is based out of Matt. 5:13-16: we are the SALT and LIGHT of the world. We are privileged to have Philipson Georges, Ywam Director of Cap Haitian, and Pastor Ernst Jacques speak with the youth on this subject. In addition to sessions and worship, we will be having Bible studies, work duties, games, various workshops, talent show, and MORE. BE PRAYING for continued peace in Hinche, the leaders who are working hard to build an impactful camp, and for the youth’s hearts to be soft to receive and grow this powerful message: they were meant to SHINE! Though this year has been difficult for all of us here and in Haiti we are encouraged that the work has continued in our absence. Our thirteen schools had another wonderful Christmas Celebration, where we provided a special lunch and distributed gifts to all the students! We want to thank Pastor Iliobert, Marie, Kérold, and ALL of our staff, for their hands-on labor over this past year.

We want to thank our friend, Matt Pierce, for the tribute video of Natalie. He met with Natalie just a year ago (January 2020) and interviewed her. Her encouraging words and deep love and passion for God’s work in Haiti motivates us more than ever to step into the new year with His vision. The Lord’s work continues in Haiti through HEF! We want to say THANK YOU to those who donate financially and support the ministry through prayer. We love and appreciate you!

Our summer in Haiti looked much different this year. We were not able to send in teams to host our summer camps & conferences. We have greatly missed physically being in Haiti over the past six months! In spite of things looking different for us, HEF has remained very much involved and in daily communication with our staff in Haiti. THE MINISTRY CONTINUES STRONG! All glory to God! Our schools will be opening next week, with certain safety measures taken to ensure the safety ...and well-being of our staff and students. Please consider financially supporting our schools and school feeding program. We have incurred a substantial financial increase due to the cost of food and the growth of our schools. Below is an excerpt from an email we recently received from Marie Berson, School Superintendent. We appreciate Marie, her love for Jesus, amazing leadership, and love for her students & their education. Marie writes: The HEF feeding program is a large food safety net for many students from more than 12 villages. Every school day, HEF delivers hot meals to around 3,000 children across more than 12 schools located in some poor areas. These school meals are then a simple way to provide children with a nutritious meal every day, while encouraging them to continue attending school. Plus, for most of them, it is the only meal they eat for the whole day. The HEF Canteen Program offers many advantages. In particular, it improves children’s nutrition and health, as well as their ability to understand and learn. The program also helps children stay in school and strengthen their development to become productive healthy adults, breaking the cycle of hunger and poverty. Thus, we present our gratitude to the HEF Board of Directors for such a program which is a true blessing for the beneficiaries. We look forward to seeing this program continue and reach more and more children. Marie Berson

Rodberry & Lizzy Jacques, who live in HAITI and are an integral part of our HEF-leadership staff, just completed this recording of The Blessing in Creole. We asked for their backstory on the translation and recording to share: We were finishing up our first recording project (Map Retann Ou), when two different people sent Rodberry a link to The Blessing by Elevation. I listened to it, and immediately felt this urging in my spirit that this needs to be translated and recor...ded as soon as possible. I felt like God was saying that this was a message that the Haitian people needed to hear NOW. We translated it that same day, and then had to put it on hold for two weeks. A few weeks later Rodberry spoke up and said, We need to get this out there. So we regrouped and recorded, mixed and filmed over a weekend. We knew God’s anointing was on it and the process was being covered in prayer. We had been praying that this song would deeply move the hearts of this nation and since the release we’ve been getting messages and phone calls of testimonies of people saying just that! Lizzy & Rodberry To God be the glory! Rodberry recorded, edited and shot the video himself in his recording studio in Hinche. https://youtu.be/07OGlG3kvIA

MINISTRY UPDATE During this challenging time HEF continues to minister God’s love in Haiti. Our HEF/Maranatha schools have been closed due to the Coronavirus. However, our ministry continues strong! Praise God! We are continuing our monthly support of our Haitian staff, churches and schools. HEF currently has many ongoing projects- a new school, a water cistern, and two kitchens under construction. We are locally making hundreds of new student desks for our schools (old &... new desks pictured). We also continue to provide food and care for the elderly and widows through our benevolence ministry. (Recent food delivery pictured) Unfortunately, we had to cancel our medical trip that was scheduled for this week. However, our medical ministry continues to help many patients with their medical needs. We are actively assisting at least seventeen patients waiting for surgeries from as young as 2 years old to an 89 year old patient! We recently received the March medical report from Gabriel, HEF’s medical administrator. Gabriel writes, We will continue to do our best to provide, through HEF, healing and hope to those people (patients). This pandemic will not stop us from planning and thinking for the good of the Haitian people. AMEN! We appreciate your continued prayers for our staff. We want to remember to pray for Pastor Iliobert and Marie Berson, and all the Maranatha pastors. They need our prayer-support at this time. We sincerely appreciate your continued financial support. We love and appreciate our Friends of Haiti!

HEF-MARANATHA YOUTH CAMP 2020 Our annual youth camp ended yesterday with great success! To God be the glory! We had approximately 200 youth attend the 4-day conference, consisting of teaching sessions, worship, soccer, break-out sessions and a talent show. There were several youth who accepted Jesus into their lives for the first time, and many who recommitted their lives to serving JESUS!... Thank you to Rodberry, Lizzy and the leadership team for putting together a life-changing conference for the youth! #ruinedforthenormal #haitiendowmentfund #hef2020 #haiti4jesus See more

RUINED FOR THE NORMAL I have never felt a love like the one I experienced in Haiti. This week has ruined me for the normal and I have cried every few hours wishing I was back on the compound. We served thousands of people this week some we met in big ways and some we met by just being a listening ear and a hand to hold. These people have the most gracious and loving hearts of any humans I have ever met. They know that their life on earth may not be filled with food, money, a...nd luxuries, but one day when they are in heaven they will never go hungry again, they will be dressed in gowns, and have no more pain. These people love their community, their Jesus, and their culture. I am in awe at the strength these people have and the love they have for life. Thank you Haiti for opening my eyes and molding my prayers. I left a big piece of my heart in HAITI and I am counting down the days until I can go back testimonial by Megan Ownbey See more
