Habitat for Humanity of Mariposa County

Hello, Everyone! Habitat for Humanity of Mariposa County is calling all carpenters, amateur and professional, to build us a DOGHOUSE! All sizes and shapes are welcome. Be as creative as you like. Please bring them to our office at 5320 Highway 49 North, near Italian Acres. We will be having a late spring raffle or auction, and the proceeds will help support us as we continue to build for our next family. As always, we appreciate our community support and could not do what we do without you. As Tuli says, "Dogs need affordable housing too!"

Work is progressing on our 5th Habitat home here. The outside is done! The home buyer, Sarah Philips, sent me some photos to share. The wide-angle photo at the bottom shows the two Habitat homes (4 & 5) side by side. When you donate to Habitat for Humanity of Mariposa County, you are helping families have the stability of homeownership--so important in these uncertain times. Heartfelt thanks from all of us at HFH of MC to all who donated in our end-of-the-year campaign! An impressive amount of $7,300 was donated! This community support means so much to our work here.

We like to support other non-profits when we can. Heritage House is having a food drive this week and we want to give them a shout-out to community for this. See their poster below and notice where food items may be dropped off. Happy Thanksgiving to all from HFH of Mariposa County!

Our fifth home is coming along! We are in waiting mode right now--as orders are slowed by the pandemic. Thanks to all who have put in time and effort on this home! Applications have come in for our next home, also on Stroming Road!

Habitat for Humanity is stepping up the plate to increase low-income housing in Mariposa County. They are starting in September to look for their next partner family. This will be the third family since 2017 to receive a house from Habitat. Anyone who is in need of an affordable, decent house can apply. Applications will be available at: Human Services, Mariposa Safe Families, Manna House, and at the Habitat office from September 1st to the 30th. An application can also be downloaded from the Habitat web site: mariposahabitat.org. Habitat is actively looking for a family so all who think they might qualify should fill out an application to become Habitat's next partner family. Great news! Maybe you have seen that work is starting on Sarah Philips's house on Stroming Road! The slab will be poured on Thursday, July 9, and we will need workers on Saturday, July 11!
