Construction for Gruen Associates-designed Terasaki Budokan is still in progress for the highly-anticipated community-driven facility. Gruen Associates is the Design Architect and Landscape Architect for Terasaki Budokan, the new Little Tokyo state-of-the-art sports complex in the heart of Los Angeles. The facility will accommodate basketball, volleyball, social service programs and special events including serving as the premiere venue for martial arts tournaments in the US.... Gruen Associates is proud to congratulate the Metro Division 16 Southwestern Yard team for the recent win of the 2020 Project of the Year from Construction Management Association of America. It will be presented at the CMAA 28th Annual Project Achievement Awards gala. Additional award wins for Southwestern Yard include the 2020 Constructor Award in the Builder $30-$200 Million category from the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of California and the 2020 Honor Award from ...the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC). Two ACEC Merit Awards were also presented for the Gardenhouse Mixed-use project in Beverly Hills and the Metro Division 20 Maintenance Building near the Arts District. Last, but not least, Gruen Associates Landscape Architects will be on a panel at the National Conference for the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) in Miami much later this year. The topic is Contractors in Conversation - Strategies for Better Projects From Design through Construction.
