Some of you may notice our radar trailer out on 13th street this week...and some may notice the police cars lurking around too (see if you can find it in the picture ). We are doing our best to provide some extra traffic safety education and enforcement around town, especially now that schools have reopened and there are a lot more people (big and small!) on our roadways. We appreciate all of you who, like this motorist, are keeping things slow and safe. Traffic safety involves all of us working together!

GBPD wants to thank Girl Scout Troops 70453 and 45310 for their visit and donation of cookies to our weekend team. Trust us... Sergeant Ituralde and Officer Logoluso are smiling big under those masks! We truly appreciate our community's support. #gbtogether City of Grover Beach - Local Government

Please help us welcome the newest Grover Beach Police Officer, Ryan Wade! Ryan comes to Grover Beach with over 11 years experience at the Clovis Police Department, where he was a Field Training Officer and Standardized Field Sobriety Test Instructor among other duties. Ryan is excited to join the central coast community and we are fortunate to add his experience to our amazing GBPD team. Chief Peters administered the oath of office to Ryan on Monday morning, and now he will begin an orientation and field training program to acclimate to our city. Found Property - Are You Missing Money?? On yesterday afternoon were you by chance in the area of the South 16th Street Park when you lost some money? A good samaritan notified us they found some money at the park and turned it over to our officers so it can be returned to the rightful owner. If this is you...you can contact Sgt. Nelida Aceves at (805) 473-4511 or you can come to the police department to identify the found money. Now we know what some of you are thinking....nope, don't try it. Only the rightful owner will know and be able to identify the packaging and other important information.

Can You Help Us Catch This Burglar? On Jan. 25 at about 7:40 p.m., this man pulled up to our local Burger King restaurant in his BMW and began casing the location to commit a crime. He entered the rear door of the business while all the employees were hard at work inside. While inside, he stole an employee's purse with all her personal contents and fled in his BMW. If you recognize this person or the vehicle, please contact Officer Oseguera at [email protected] or call our Detective bureau at (805) 473-4511.

On Tuesday morning, Commander Millard presented Community Services Technician Randy Gonzalez with a letter of commendation for his excellent work for the city of Grover Beach. While patrolling our streets, Randy has located and recovered 3 stolen vehicles during the past 3 months! In two of these cases, Randy was also able to locate fingerprint evidence that is being reviewed at a forensics lab. Part of his commendation letter read: "Randy, your proactive mindset and k...een observational skills are appreciated and positively contribute to the overall professionalism of the Grover Beach Police Department. You are to be commended for providing excellence in service to our community through your hard work." We hope you will join us in congratulating CST Randy Gonzalez on a job well done! Our thoughts and condolences are with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office and the family of Deputy Adam Gibson who, along with his K9 partner Riley, died in the line of duty during a shooting late last night. Our staff members will don a black memorial band over our badges in honor of Deputy Gibson and K9 Riley.
