Samhain Is Near. Catastrophe may be looming, but big workings are afoot. The leaves turn and fall, flowers wither and fade, but nothing is in vain. The wheel continues to turn. Compost will become new life. The growing darkness of night is pregnant with glimmers of possibility. We gather from afar to call upon the land and our loved ones to help us dive deep into our ancestral well, dip a cup into the celestial pool, and pour into the cauldron everything we need to carry us ...through the winter of the unknown. We invoke our sacred space, acknowledge our beloved dead, and affirm that life goes on. We invite you to a Samhain of the soul, where we’ll hold you in the center of the circle till we meet again. Join us in craft and creation, despair and joy, dissonance and harmony as we celebrate the turning of another year. Our gathering this year is virtual and will be happening October 29th - November 1st. Groundswell will be offering some program sessions as well as creating space for others to lead workshops. Help us call in our container by participating in the Opening and Closing of the gathering. If you want to be on the team to create these ceremonies, please email [email protected]. (from our most recent newsletter...) Hello from Groundswell! Staying safe out there? Doing as well as you can out there? Yes, it’s a lot. We’re all feeling it, including the community at Groundswell.... Blessedly, the smoke has dissipated, though of course the danger of fire remains. And what with the conflagrations, the pandemic, the continued police killings of black people, and the frightening political (and literal) climate breakdown, it’s hard to get a grip. But Groundswell still feels like a refuge, and we want to share it with you. Obviously we won’t be hosting any big gatherings this fall, but we’re open for small-group get-togethers, campground style, for you and your friends. Or, if you want to rent out the whole property for an event, we’re available for that too. Covid conscious, socially distanced, and all that. Reach out to book a stay!* *October weekends are booking up. Plenty of weekday stays available. Taking bookings for November as well.
