Like many before her, she is a design-minded person with a passion for permaculture. From her website: "Anna is originally from Cambridge, MA. Greywater systems generate large amounts of water at one time, and mulch basins allow that water to gradually infiltrate the landscape. The first frame shows an empty mulch basin next to an avocado tree with blue mainline 1" tubing running alongside. The second frame shows the basin half full with wood chip mulch and 1/2" emitter tubbing branching from the mainline.... The third frame shows the basin filled with mulch and pink emitter shield covering the end of the 1/2" emitter. The last step here would be to bury the mainline tubing. See more

Part 2: after separating the blackwater, we run the greywater through a 3-way diverter valve. In the "On" position, the valve directs greywater to a surge tank, where it is pumped out to the landscape. In the "Off" position, the greywater is diverted to the sewer.
