Hello all my friends family and clients. I want to take a moment to address whether or not I'm conducing business and when I will be conducting more real estate... business. I have been a residential realtor serving Placerville and the foothills for the last 15 years. It has been my privilege to help so many of you make your dream of home ownership a reality. As you may or may not know Real Estate was deemed an essential industry a short time ago. I want to address what that means and what I think is essential. This might be a long read but thank you to all who make it to the end of it. The real intent behind the CA government establishing real estate as essential was so realtors could complete transactions in progress without being in direct defiance of the governors stay at home order. It was not intended for the real estate industry in CA to restart, for showings to restart or for business as usual to begin again. There is not much interpretation or oversight to this so some county associations of realtors have started showings again on a limited basis with social distancing protocols in place and others have said, don't do it, stay at home, stay virtual. The main point here is that the "essential" designation was placed on real estate to not trap transactions in mid stream rather than to keep the business going as usual. For my part I am staying home because what I deem essential is the health and safety of your family, my family and our community. The best minds in the world have told us to stay home and I believe they have made a compelling enough case to me that I would be endangering you and your family to do in person business in real estate right now. At it's core I believe my job is to be a guide. I guide families to reach their goals, it's something I've done all my life and for the last 15 years I have guided people through the challenging, scary and onerous process of making their real estate dreams a reality. I see my role as helping you and your family carve out and own your own secure safe place in our world. I see giving you advice and resources that will help you get that home and provide safe haven for your family as the highest and best use of my hard won skills as a realtor through the last recession, the last few boom years and into the recession to come. As such it would be counter to my own morals, my beliefs and my business values to do anything to put you or your family at risk. For that reason I am not performing real estate activities that require in person, face to face contact. I hope you all will see my reasons for this and know that I am doing it with the best of intentions. I will begin to conduct in person real estate activities again as soon as the scientific communities inform us through our government leadership that it is time to do so. The good news is this does not mean I cannot continue to provide the same high level of expert guidance in real estate that I always have. If you need to list a home now or in the near future: - We can do all listing activities virtually and without ever interacting. -We can discuss a showing plan that meets your safety requirement and follows government guidelines. -We can do our first meetings via video chat where I give you advice on decluttering and depersonalizing your home, staging it with your own furniture and what projects to complete and which ones to not bother with. -If you don't want to list until the virus slows down this free initial consultation will allow you to use your covid time to get your home ready. If you are a buyer we can: - set up your automated search so you can learn the market. -Get you fully preaproved with my lender, property address to be determined. -We can talk about the timing of your purchase and what is happening in the market so you can make the best possible financial decision. Finally I want to honor the front line workers that can't make the same decision I am to stay home to protect my family and yours. In order to protect your family and mine they have to go out, work and risk their health and their families health. To those workers I am eternally grateful. When we are allowed to work again I will provide a $3,000 credit from my commission to the closing costs for any transaction for a front line worker. This includes: -Nurses -Doctors -Fire Fighters -Police -Grocery workers I cannot stand along side you on the front lines of this fight but when this is all over I can help to ensure that your sacrifices don't go unnoticed and help lessen the financial burden of home sale or ownership for you. Hello Everyone, I have spent the last 18 days in quarantine working through our families finances and investigating all the options to limit our expenses while we are unable to work during the shut down. It has been a very eye opening experience and I have been able to shave $1,159 off our monthlies permanently and $3,670 off our monthlies for the next 3 months with a likely extension on that. This has allowed me to greatly extend my families financial runway to ride out this... shutdown. This will allow me to relax, breathe, focus on family and make a kick ass plan to hit the ground running on the other side of this without worrying about how I'm going to keep the lights on.
