City of Palmdale to Accept Applications for Recreation & Culture Positions in February PALMDALE The City of Palmdale’s recreation and culture department will be accepting applications for summer jobs beginning in February 2014.... Recruitment will begin on Feb. 3 for the positions of program leader, program aide, senior lifeguard, head lifeguard and stage assistant. Recruitment for lifeguard I will begin Feb. 18. A limited number of positions are available, so interested individuals are encouraged to apply early. Details and applications will be available at www.cityofpalmdale.org. Some of the positions will include working in special events, DryTown Water Park, and other divisions within the recreation and culture department. Green Thumb A.V. Youth TAMB (Therapeutic Anger Management Boxing) Program The Green Thumb A.V. Youth Program and Santos USA Boxing implements an anger management program that provides therapeutic tactile interventions which requires an emotional state of ‘feeling calm. Tactile training assist youth’s with coping, concentration, focusing, and recognizing how detrimental anger can tip emotional balance, causing a psychological, dysfunctional, emotional disturbance in behavi...or. The TAMB program will collaborate with schools, Juvenile courts, and local law officials to promote a healthy environment. The GAM (Group Anger Management) program provides anger management Group counseling to address youth’s uncontrolled anger, aggression, and violent behavior. The counseling and boxing component is utilized as a therapeutic intervention to assist in providing anger management therapy . The BAM (Boxing Anger Management) program utilizes physical therapy as a coping tool for assisting youths with releasing frustrations of anger stress, aggression through learning temperament measurements through boxing. exercise. Youth will learn/self-control and discipline.
