This handsome guy is Taylor He’s a sweet natured Nubian wether. Taylor was a little shy when he first arrived at Greener Pastures, but we didn’t mind- we gave him lots of space to be himself. Now he knows he can trust us and is eager for pets and treats! Animals are like people, they each have a unique personality and we let them be exactly who they are

Zion has lived at Greener Pastures for a year now and is a maturing juvenile. He has always been inquisitive, but that has recently changed to a more aggressive behavior. It’s mating season and he has become territorial. Even though he knows us, his instincts are powerful. He is protecting his mate and potential offspring. We are building the peafowl a larger area which will help this and allow us to be safe. If you would like to contribute to Zion’s new aviary please donate! Thank you https://www.greenerpasturessanctuary.org

How are animals so forgiving? Lacey came from abuse and neglect and she seems grateful to be here during tender moments like these. She is such a beautiful spirit! It breaks my heart to think she was so mistreated in the past. So happy to make a difference in her precious life

Monique played her flute for Quirky and he liked it! We always have music playing in the barn when we’re cleaning and feeding. We even used classical music for Dinkey to calm her for hoof trimming! The power of sound- music or a soothing voice, a gentle touch, and calm demeanor are extremely powerful when working with abused animals. It helps them feel safe and builds trust.
