I wouldn’t say that it’s was just one thing that made me find HLP lol it was a long series of unfortunate events turned for good. But I’ll just stick to the present facts I found HLP when I was looking for a prayer group to join rather than my church’s because for one, English being my first language my Spanish isn’t all that great. Two: I had a falling out with a friend of my that left me feeling really down, but decided I would pray for him and get help.Three: I wanted to ...be closer to God and more Christian friends. I want to say I’m grateful for the pandemic tbh because a lot of prayer groups opened up. I found Hey Let’s pray when I was on the Granite Bay Hilltop website looking to see if they had any online groups to join. Low and behold there was Hey Let’s Pray, I wasn’t sure if I could join because it said youth prayer group and I debated joining lol, but ended up trying anyway just to see. Tony’s awesome, every person in that group is so spiritually mature and on fire, for God to me it’s like a culture shock! It’s wonderful to see young people be serious about God. I’m humbled and realize I have much to learn, haha. HLP was definitely an answer to prayer. More so I feel it was predetermined to come into my life praise God!!!! I was born and raised in in the SDA church. My grandpa was a pastor my whole family is Adventist (mostly). They were always very active in the church. Honestly I used to think that I didn’t have a testimony. I never did anything big or had any fantastic experience of conversion I was just there plodding along in church. I was always super shy so I kept to myself warmed some pews on and off participated here and there. It’s so easy to fall into the idea that only if God visibly calls you and uses you that then you finally have a testimony to tell, or even a purpose in the church. Which is so not true which I learned only just a couple months ago! ‘Don’t think that just because you didn’t have a life changing moment where you knew you had finally found God, that you don’t have a testimony to share!’ You DO! It’s God’s power to keep you!’ This lifted a burden I didn’t even know I had! I’m still useful and important to God where I am! See more
