HANDLING REJECTION Everyone of us is a product of relationships. We are all here on this planet because a man and a woman related in a particular way, sometime...s in the past. Inbuilt in everyone of us is the desire to be accepted, loved, wanted, received, welcomed and appreciated. We all love to be loved and celebrated. We are not wired to live or succeed alone, there are different people we're destined to meet on our life's journey at different times. When we are not accepted by those we expect to do so, we feel rejected and this can be traumatic. We are deeply hurt and emotionally troubled. If this is not properly handled it has the tendency to affect every aspect of our lives from spiritual to marriage, physical to our health and general well being. Be aware that there's no one on earth who has not experienced one rejection or the other. It's your response that makes the difference. Even Little children face rejection when one just decides not to play with another. Have you been privileged to watch such scinerio? You can have two different children respond differently. One start crying and sulking and another says something like "you too go away, am not also playing with you." He/she walks away from the scene of rejection or from the one who's rejecting. -Some children are rejected by parents -Friends can reject -Someone's work/Job can be rejected -Spouse can reject -Boss can reject. - A Pastor can feel rejected when members leave the church. - When there's a broken courtship, we feel rejected. -An applicant's request can be rejected. -Siblings do reject. The list goes on and on. HOW TO RESPOND -Find out the cause of rejection. Is it a personal mistake, do I have attitudes repelling people? is it out of envy or sheer hatred from others? Sincerely ascertain the real issue. -If it's personal errors, be willing to forgive yourself and determine to grow and make changes. God rejected Cain's offering and corrected him, yet he was stubborn and blinded. - if it's other's wrong perceptions of you, where necessary let them see the true light by effective communication. - God allows some people to reject you because their time has expired in your life or they're not part of your journey. So move on. -Sometimes, people use others and dump them, when they believe they've gotten what they needed. Oh, this can be heart broken. Learn from it and move on. -Some people are short sighted, they can't see the glory ahead of you, so they believe you're not in their class., You see you're in the 'class of God.' He made you in His image. Have the right perception of yourself. His signature is on you. Don't allow other's opinion to demobilize you. - Forgive those who rejected you, it's for your good and healing. Am not saying you should pursue relationship with them, but neutralize bitterness, it's toxic. "Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me." Psalms 27:10 NIV. Shalom!

I had this JESUS IS COMING NOW, REPENT AND BE SAVED sticker by the side of our cars & sometimes at the red light stop or intersection when you need to look right, or left briefly, I found out that other drivers are trying to read it or look at it. I kind of forget sometimes what they were looking at, I quickly remembered that it was the JESUS IS COMING NOW sticker by the side of the car. It got me thinking, HOW People might want to see how I comport myself as I drive. Do I cut people off, do I drive recklessly, do I speed way above posted speed limit, do I signal before making turns or I just don’t care about driving rules? Beloved, honestly, I feel like taking the sticker off the car sometimes, but I felt constrained to leave it on the car, because it’s like a policeman monitoring me, calling my attention to how other people might be seeing me, that I am not an illusion nor a mirage, that people are watching me. NOW, let’s see it in the spiritual, as a Christian, do you know that’s who we are if we are truly born again, and we are who we say we are in God? We have been purchased of the Lord, we are free, but we cannot do whatever we feel like doing. Eyes are on us, even if we don’t want to acknowledge that, people are watching us, we are an influence, impacting lives negatively or positively. It reminded me of Apostle Peter in the Bible, the more he tried to run away from identifying with JESUS the more people recognized him. Mark 14:66-72 and Luke 22:54-62. In John 21:3, the same Peter told other disciples I go fishing and 6 out of the remaining 11 disciples followed him, making 7 of them together. You & I are not invincible my friend. People are watching us & GOD in heaven is watching us. We are always under the radar. Hebrews 12:1 (NLT) says Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. Stay blessed beloved.
