Welcome back, Don Burrus!
**UPDATE** 06/07/20 0830am, Lagoon Valley Park is still closed to ALL vehicle traffic during this ongoing county fire operation. The park will remain open duri...ng this time, but you'll have to enter in on foot. Please use caution, because of the incoming and outgoing fire equipment during the day. Please avoid the area of Lagoon Valley Park as local Fire Departments are using the main parking area to stage equipment and personnel. The park will be closed as the Fire Departments are currently working a 4 alarm fire in the area of Pleasants Valley Road and Quail Canyon Road. The Solano Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting evaluations. As of now, City of Vacaville residents are not being evacuated. A message from the Solano Small Business Development Center: President Trump has signed the $484 Billion Coronavirus relief bill. The next step in the process will be to write the final rules and guidance that will be sent to the Small Business Administration and participating lenders. It is expected to take a few days before this process is completed and the banks start accepting applications again. The good news is that the funds have been replenished. The not so goo...d news is that we expect these funds to be depleted again fairly rapidly. Congress is already working on a CARES2 Act to prepare for the next round of funding. We also know that $60 Billion has been appropriated to Community based lenders, small banks & credit unions to provide additional resources for small businesses who bank with lenders who to not offer the PPP. In addition we are told that the following fintech lenders will be accepting applications from non-account holders. Lendistry.com Funding Circle.com United Business Bank Radius Bank PayPal Quicken loans To find participating lenders go to www.sba.gov/paycheckprotection/find and type in your zip code. For those who are turned down for either EIDL or PPP loans the state of CA is offering State Guarantee Disaster micro loans through iBank of up to $50,000. Go to ibank.ca.gov for more information about that program. Please share with your network and feel free to direct SB’s to our website: SolanoSBDC.org or call us at 707 646 1071.
If you own a restaurant, or know someone who does, you'll want to know/share this info from the Solano Small Business Development Center: The Solano SBDC has put together a solution for restaurants in Solano County that can help them pivot to providing delivery. They have partnered with Cloud Kitchens to offer their product called "Otter" to Solano County restaurants at a discounted rate of $35.00 per month. On top of that through the Layoff Aversion Program (LOAF) grant offered by the Workforce Development Board of Solano County the Solano SBDC will be covering the $150 implementation fee. There will be a webinar TODAY 4/27 from 1:45 - 3:00 where this program will be discussed along with other ideas for restaurants during this challenging time. FROM ASSEMBLYMEMBER JIM FRAZIER: We're Here For You and Your Small Business If you or someone you know owns a small business or runs a private, non-profit organization in designated areas of California and been affected by the response to COVID-19, then the following resources may be available to assist you during this public health crisis.... Federal Small Business Loans The United States Small Business Administration (SBA) has opened their disaster assistance application process to all US States. The SBA offers Economic Injury Disaster Loans of up to $2 million in assistance to cover a temporary loss of revenue. The loans can cover 8 weeks of operating expenses and if 75% of the funds go to payroll of a small business as the new Federal CARES Act defines it, the entire loan amount can be forgiven. You can find more information or apply online now. California State Resources Further, California small businesses can now defer payment of up to $50,000 in sales and use taxes for up to a year-what amounts to an additional loan. Visit the Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development's COVID-19 landing page for links to other valuable resources. Further, small businesses may also be eligible for loans through California State entities via IBank. Solano County Workforce Development Board COVID-19 Lay-Off Aversion Fund (LOAF) Solano County Workforce Development Board (WDB) has announced the creation of the COVID-19 Lay-Off Diversion Fund to support small businesses in Solano County. In order to assist small businesses facing financial impacts and potential layoffs from COVID-19, the WDB has established a $60,000 COVID-19 Layoff Aversion Fund. The fund will provide grants to small businesses experiencing economic stresses in order to prevent potential layoffs or facility closures during COVID-19. They are accepting applications through the next 30 calendar days following the discontinuation of the State of Emergency Response related to COVID-19 crisis, or until the funds are exhausted. The Workforce Development Board for Contra Costa County also has various resources on their website to help support small businesses during COVID-19. Rapid Response Virtual Sessions for Entrepreneurs The California Entrepreneurship Task Force has launched a series of Rapid Response Virtual Sessions to engage with fellow small business owners and entrepreneurs across our state. We recognize that it is critical that small businesses and entrepreneurs-- so many of whom are impacted by the pandemic-- have access to information and resources, as well as connection to a community of fellow leaders to discuss issues, challenges and barriers. As always, my office is here for you even as we work remotely. We can be reached by telephone at (707) 399-3011, (925) 513-0411 or via my online email account should you have any questions or need help with the above services. Stay strong, California.
