I finally got my second vaccine last week and cannot tell you what a relief it is. It's been a long, difficult year and I am grateful for my health and that of my loved ones. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and I want to thank all of you who have supported my business throughout these challenging times. For those of you who visit the Mission market, I regret to tell you that we will no longer be doing that market. Our current market schedule includes 2 markets: ...Brentwood Farmers Market Saturdays from 8 to 12; and Inner Sunset Farmers Market Sundays from 9 to 1. An update on Lucia my helper, she has had her first vaccine a week ago and in a few weeks we expect to be cooking on site again. I hope you all stay safe and slowly but surely we get back to normal. Thanks from the bottom of my heart for your continued support, blessings to you all! See more

Greetings everyone, we are back in Brentwood today, and tomorrow we'll be at the Inner Sunset. The good news is that my worker Lucia has started working for me again after a long round of chemotherapy for breast cancer. She is slowly getting better and has a very positive attitude. Thanks everyone for your continued support and we wish everyone a safe and prosperous new year

To our Inner Sunset clients, due to the recent spike in Covid cases in the Bay Area and following my doctor's recommendations, I have decided to continue to shelter in place for a couple more weeks. I should return to the market on Sunday January 24th. To our Brentwood clients, the market will reopen on Saturday January 23rd. I hope to see you all soon. My best wishes to all for a safe and prosperous 2021. Thanks for your continued support. Blessings to all!

We've done all 3 markets this week. Your response to our new prepackaged pupusas has been overwhelming and we are grateful for that. I have to get new permits from the State before I can return and that may take a few weeks so please be patient and should return as soon as possible. Please be safe and we hope to see you soon!

We're back at the Mission market after a few months.

To all our clients, hoping that everyone is safe out there. I was hoping to start the markets this week but the recent news about record number of new cases in California has forced me to rethink my start date. For the protection of all our customers my daughter, who'll be working with me this summer, and myself have scheduled a test for Covid this Friday and it probably takes a few days to get the results. I have absolutely no symptoms at all, neither does my daughter but I feel an obligation to every one of my customers to guarantee that in our return we will provide an excellent service following strict sanitary protocol for your protection and ours, I will keep you all posted, I hope everyone of you stays safe. Remember only we can slow down the spread. Blessings to you all!

To all our loyal customers, I hope that you have all managed to stay in good overall health throughout these difficult times. An update on my helper Lucia, she had surgery a couple of weeks ago and more treatment to follow. I ask you to keep her in your prayers. As a way of adapting to the current situation I'd like to introduce the new way of packaging for our gourmet pupusas. Not only they stay fresh longer but they freeze well, I had some the other day that I kept frozen... and they were delicious. Our return to the markets is now, Thursday June 25th at the Mission Community Market; Saturday June 27th at the Brentwood Farmers Market and Sunday June 28th at the Inner Sunset Farmers Market. We are looking forward to a safe and awesome summer season and when the time is right, we'll be offering our catering services again. We'll see you all soon. Be safe! See more

To all our clients, greetings from the comfort of my house. I have now been in quarantine for a month and it wasn't an easy decision as 2 of my markets remain open. The week of March 15th I was running around different stores trying to find materials for prepping and it was so difficult to find anything and I finally decided to shelter in place. As you know, I only do one market during the winter months and usually save for the slow season. March is the time I start getting b...usy again and also the time I'm usually out of savings. It hasn't been easy the last few weeks but I am so grateful to have my health, I hope all of you are healthy as well. Last week I found out that my employee Lucia who's been with me for the last 5 years, has been diagnosed with breast cancer. This hit me hard because she's been a good, loyal employee and she is also a wife, a mother a daughter and in my case a friend. I pray for a speedy recovery and I ask for your prayers. It also makes me realize how grateful I have to be for being in good health. I am doing lots of meditation and I exercise 3 times a week in order to keep my sanity and a healthy spirit. I am hoping to be back selling prepackaged pupusas sometime in June. In the meantime I hope you all stay healthy and as a reminder, this too shall pass. My only hope is that we are a better planet after all this is over, it starts with me. May God bless each one of you. Take care! See more

To all our clients, after giving it much thought and a heart to heart conversation with a loved one, I have decided to suspend operations immediately. It's hard for me to accept that I'm in my 60's and I have decided to just stay home and follow the County's Shelter in Place order. I ask everyone to please be safe and wash your hands constantly and stay home and keep a positive attitude we will get through this together as one and hopefully learn for the better out of it. I wish you good health and we'll see you again soon. God bless!

Meditation & Music have been my biggest allies this week. I have been to several stores and it's been difficult finding a lot of the items I need for prepping. This weekend I will only sell prepackaged pupusas at both Brentwood and Inner Sunset markets. After that I will check the situation one day at the time. Mission market's opening has already been postponed. I pray for the safety of all of us. One thing I know for sure is that this too shall pass. What's important to me is how I will change for the better as a human after all this. Please BE SAFE!!!!

I drove by my paternal grandparents' house on my recent trip to El Salvador. The original house was badly damaged on the 2001 earthquake and was sold to a prestigious communications school. This is how it looks now. This is were my father and his siblings grew up. When I was little, my grandmother had a pupusa business at this house and I believe is whom I got my passion for cooking from. I must admit it felt really strange being out there, so many childhood memories. A house... that is no longer there, behind that wall there's a big empty space. It's used as a parking lot as it connects with the school in the back. I'm grateful for the experience and back in the United States ready for a new and exciting year. Thanks to all of you for your continued support. We are only doing 1 market right now, the inner sunset on Sundays in SF. I wish everyone a successful year. God bless! See more

This picture was taken at 6am Jan. 1 2020. In the back is the Chinchontepec Volcano as seen from San Salvador. As we start a new.decade I would.like to wish everyone a wonderful year. My wish is that I make the world a better place considering the madness that sometimes is around us. May the New Year bring nothing but peace and joy your way. Our first market of the year will be Sunday the 12th, Inner Sunset Farmer's Market. Best wishes to all!
