Microdermabrasion is a popular facial service, but have you ever had it done on your body? Microdermabrasion can be beneficial for Kertosis Pilaris (a.k.a chicken skin, strawberry legs, KP) keratinized skin on the knees & elbows, and it's also a great addition to back facials. Good skincare is the precursor to good make up. The better your skin looks, the better your makeup will look, and you'll be able to apply less makeup as well. An ongoing issue I have with wearing makeup is finding a routine that plays well with re-applying sunscreen throughout the day. So, here's what I've been doing lately. After applying SPF I use Strobe Cream by @maccosmetics to get that "lit from within" glow. I also color correct under ...my eyes, around my mouth, and over any hyperpigmentation. I then use @Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer under my eyes, & spot conceal wherever necessary. I then top it off with a light dusting of setting powder, and finish with highlight, bronzer and blush. I have very oily skin, so this routine does not provide much staying power. I used to get really annoyed by this, but wearing bulletproof 24hr makeup is less important to me than being able to attending to my skin under the makeup throughout the day. Usually by the time I need to reapply SPF, my makeup is in need of a touch up. Some of my favorite sun products are: @saian_skincare Sunscreen Mist SPF 30, @supergoop Unseen Sunscreen, medi bac spf 50 by @dermalogica which is unfortunately, now discontinued, and a cute large sunhat. I snapped these photos to demonstrate that vellus hair is NOT the only thing removed during a dermaplane session. This here (on the clients face) is straight up dead skin.
