Great job on our District Training Rotary District 5240
We lost a wonderful man and great Rotarian. Rest In Peace Bob, we will miss you.
We just shipped another box of books to the troops! This one was especially sweet as they requested children’s books so they could read to their kids. Thanks to @Frances Gilliland for handling this for our club.
So proud to partner with the Camelina Rotary Club in Mexico to help get the roof repaired on this children's facility AMANC México. Now they can safely play, rest and take family time. Rotary International
Our club is gathering books for the troops. Here is one of our shipments. Thank you Frances Wilson Gilliland for organizing & including a personalized note with each shipment.
Last 2 days to get yummy BBQ from Neighbor Tim's BBQ https://neighbor-tims-bbq.square.site/ . So sad to have Tim Goebel moving away, but Boise will be a wonderful community for he and his family. Send them off with an order today or tomorrow. Good luck Tim! We will miss you.
Enjoying the keynote speaker at our Rotary District 5240 district conference Brett Culp. Great start to an amazing event!
Please let us know if you’d like to help us raise funds for the community!

It’s that time of year already!! Poinsettia sales! All proceeds stay here locally for scholarships & to support our local non-profits. Feel free to share!
This is a very tardy post, but we loved having our District Governor of Rotary District 5240 Deborah Linden speak at our meeting. She shared her vision for the year and recognized our PE Tammy Dobrotin - State Farm Insurance Agent as a Rotarian of Action. Have a great year Deb!
Congrats Catherine! No big surprise as you are a such a dedicated member of our club.
Miss being able to support the community at events. Look forward to when we can again.
Last meeting we heard about a Neighborhood Court Program that is being organized in Goleta. Ethan Bertrand of Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors Chair Gregg Hart’s Office shared, along with John Savrnoch of the District Attorney - Santa Barbara County. This would be a volunteer panel & a program to help those committing low level offenses that want to take accept responsibility & be held accountable. In counties with successful programs similar to this, 90% of offenders do not re-offend. They are in the preliminary stages of organizing & hiring a coordinator. We look forward to hearing more as it progresses.
Tremendous thanks and appreciation for our outgoing president Tony Vallejo. Thanks for your time & commitment. His final speaker was Michael Berton of New Beginnings. They offer many services, including counseling, providing meals, assisting veterans and providing safe parking for the vehicular homeless. They’ve developed programs that have been trademarked and are helping other organizations nationally. They have been offering services for 52 years. New Beginnings Counseling Center
Our speaker at our last meeting was Len Smolburd of Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara. They help so many of our local high school graduates and have for many, many, years. We are proud to partner with them and help some of those students in their future eduational goals. They are looking for volunteers, if interested, contact them at [email protected].
Our guest speaker at our last meeting was Alana Walczak with CALM. Such a timely topic and an eye opener for what is going on in our community and the world right now.
Rotarians at work at The Salvation Army Santa Barbara. Ashley Rei & John Glanville. Supporting a great organization where one of our members Amber Ohl works.
Our club donated to Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital today for National Hospital Week 2020 - May 10 - 16. We purchased 20 dozen cookies from Anna's Bakery and Frances Wilson Gilliland, Allen Paneral, & Debra Weaver delivered them to the hospital. We truly appreciate everything that our hospital workers are doing for our community always, but especially during this panedemic.
Michael Baker of the United Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Barbara County was our guest speaker last night. Their facilities are closed for activities, but they have partnered with the Food Bank of Santa Barbara County and have given out thousands of meals so far. They could really use some support financially so they can re-open for the kids when it is safe to do so.
Congratulations are in order for our newest Rotarian Olive Goebel. She was born April 12. Proud Dad Timothy Goebel
