After 44 wonderful and satisfying years helping people obtain 'second chances' as to their financial lives I have retired, effective March 29, 2019 so that I might have a second chance at life myself. I was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer in mid-January and advised to retire and concentrate on beating this disease. I trust that my esteemed colleagues will carry the torch forward by continuing to help others in achieving justice. Time to meet this challenge, recover and spend time with my grandchildren. Thank you for allowing me the privilege to serve those that I could. It has been an honor to do so.

2019The Year of the 3Rs: Resolutions, Recession and Resets My disclaimer is brief: I am not a doomsayer nor am I an economist. Neither am I the Grinch that wants to steal 2019 from you. As a bankruptcy lawyer for almost 44 years I am, though, a student of economics based on the changes I see in the local, grass-roots economy of my clients and the economic cycles they go through. New Year’s Resolutions: This is the time, between Christmas and the new year, where people e...xamine and digest what they might do in the coming year to better themselves. Sometimes its about losing weight, exercising or cutting back on consuming junk food. However, right up there, every year, is the notion or thought to be debt free and to live within your means. A poll taken in 2015 indicated that most, if not all individuals, expect to die and still be in debt. What if you have the power and control to change that? 2019 Recession certainty: Historically speaking, our nation goes through a recession, on average, every 7 to 8 years. The last one began in 2008 and now we have gone as long as we ever havealmost 10 years! Signs of this are rising interest rates (thank the Federal Reserve), a daily volatile stock market, the soon to be burst of the housing bubble, even worse than 2008, and global upheaval in worldwide currencies that affect all financial markets. Reset (Global Currency): Google: Global Currency Reset. There are now, in the process, roughly 109 countries that are going to be switching, most likely in 2019, to a new world-wide financial system supported and based upon, an asset backed economy, such as gold, silver or other physical assets. Under the Federal Reserve, we have been operating with simply ‘fiat debt paper’ really worth nothing. Once implemented, our financial system will be sound again. Remember, the United State of America, for much of it’s prior existence, was on a gold standard. What CAN YOU do? So with all of this newswhat can YOU do about it? You can’t, single-handedly, affect the rising interest rates, the stock market, the housing bubble, or a global currency reset. However, YOU CAN affect your own personal finances by taking charge of eliminating your debt so that you will be prepared for 2019 and beyond.
