!!MAY HITTING CLINICS!! GS would like to inform you that there will be a new round of Friday hitting clinics beginning May 7. ... The hitting class will have several focuses, including the building blocks of hitting: -More Power -More Often(consistency) -Adjustability(off speed/fastball hitting, inside/outside pitch hitting and high/low pitch hitting.) Each class has a video breakdown segment of MLB players, along with the use of data to show players the areas of focus needed most. Classes are designed with a blend of education mixed with actionable drill work, that each player can utilize on their own time with the use of the tee and/or live toss. Details for the classes are as follows: Hitting Dates - All Fridays - May 7, 14, 21 & 28 Times - 4-5:30pm Location - 3344 Swetzer Ct, Loomis, CA, 95650 Cost - $160 for all 4 classes or $50 prorated per class to pay as you go. Couldn’t be more on point! The body has zero interest in what the coach has to say. Words get translated to each player’s brain differently, making them of limited value. Give the athlete vision of how the greats do it, change the environment, preach hyper-focus so it sticks and maximum intent so they build strength. Then let the athlete find the way.

The GS Baseball Foundation and Golden Spikes Razorback 12U team is hosting the 1st Annual Cornhole Tournament hosted at the Lincoln Potters Stadium on May 22nd. All proceeds raised from this tournament will go towards their 2021 Cooperstown Trip. You can register to participate at gsbaseball.org/cornhole. There will be Board Sponsorships available as well as small to large team participation. Team Entry Fee will be $100. There will be Family Fun Activities, 50/50 Raffle, Food and drinks available at the facility. All fees may be tax deductible.

The AZ Spring Championships are in the books! The GS Boys really showed they’re #prowess competing against stiff #competition from all over the country. All told, between 7 GS teams the program went 36-14-1. Placing in the top 8 in all divisions, top 4 in 4 of them and a #2 finish for the 12u Razorbacks. The new Win VR(virtual reality) system will surround your athlete in a 3 dimensional, all encompassing, world of baseball right in the comfort of our video classroom. ... It’s a well known fact that the batter/pitcher contest is the most impactful interaction in the game. Given that fact, the VR system is designed to improve timing, pitch selection, peripheral vision, fine focus and much more. What used to be accomplished only in live game settings can now be pumped out at a never before seen rate. We are now accepting bookings for the VR system. We are asking all former and current families to share this post along with a favorite memory that they had/have with the Spikes. Please post a pic if you have one. Today marks an important milestone for Golden Spikes Baseball as we officially turn 10 years old! We have had the pleasure of coaching so many remarkable young men through these years and have seen their baseball careers continue on into the college and professional ranks. Not only have we been blessed to coach ...these boys, but to interact and be a part of the tremendous families that we’ve had in this program is a huge honor. There is no way we could’ve made it this far without the incredible support from every family that has been a part of the black & gold. In these ten years, I can honestly say that I’ve created countless memories, but the one that sticks out the most is when I was coaching the 12u Cowboys in Cooperstown and we had just clinched the win into the Championship Game. I remember after shaking the other teams hands, myself and Coach Cory Barker hugging each other at home plate saying, I can’t believe it! Out of 108 teams to play that week, we were in the finals and we had to go through the gauntlet to get there. At one point, we were losing to the #1 seed team from East Cobb, GA in the 5th inning and the rain started to come down and delayed the game for about an hour. Once play resumed, our bats went on fire and we scored 11 runs to win that game. Cheers to 10 years for GS and cheers to all of you who helped make this dream that Kela, Alex, and myself started out ten years ago a reality! ~Coach Bret Hemphill

However, to avoid any confusion as to which players we select, we would prefer it if you are ready to play with GS by them time of the tryout and not on one or more rosters at that time.
