Another great day for Team GKC
Saturday morning outdoor safely distanced classes. This photo was taken as the students get ready to bow in at the start of the fourth, and last, class of the day. Earlier we began with an adult Zoom class with, as every Saturday, participants from all over the world. Then we headed to the park conducting a belt test and promotion for some of the youngest students, and an advanced class for youth black and brown belts.
Goju Karate Center WILL be continuing our physically distanced Saturday morning outdoor youth classes at the park as permitted by county and city regulations.
If the only thing your children are learning is to punch, kick, and defend themselves then it's not really karate.
Thank you to all who came showed up for Women’s Resource Center tonight!
See you this evening!

Thank you to our local GKC and International GKCglobal members for showing tremendous dedication and spirit by participating in the 100 Kata Challenge today. We... had adult and youth students in attendance from Goju Karate Center, with GKCglobal dojos and members from near and far joining us. In addition to the kata challenge we also managed to mix in a trivia quiz with topics such as Karate Day history, Miyagi Chojun, Goya, Shuri Jo, Jazzercise, and more. A big thank you to Chris Denwood Sensei and ESKK for leading us through 10 rounds of Naihanchi kata as we intersected with their 100 kata challenge. We’d be remiss if we forgot to thank James Pankiewicz, founder of the 100 Kata Challenge which has now become a tradition with karate practitioners around the world. See more

Congratulations to the sixteen youth candidates who successful passed their color belt promotion today, and to the four who earned their progress stripe. We are so very proud of you all for your commitment to self-improvement, diligence in your training, and your indomitable attitude to continue your training through thick and thin. Thank you to our wonderful GKC families for supporting your students in their martial arts journey.
It was a wonderful day of beach training this morning, and the weather was perfect. So great to see everyone in person, and particularly elated to have Julio Sensei join us. Thank you to everyone who came! Also a shoutout to Sensei Aimee who did an amazing job of organizing the youth students and gold team to keep everyone safe.
A great memory with Hanshi Patrick McCarthy (and of course Roland taking center stage).
