When Brad decided to surprise his girlfriend Lindsay with a marriage proposal, he wisely turned to his future sister-in-law and professional event planner Laura to plan his proposal. Everything was planned to happen on Newport Beach at sunset but Lindsay’s son's excellent pitching performance resulted in his little league baseball team advancing to and winning a championship at the same time. Miss Dorothy Penner, MBC, a long-time Association of Bridal Consultant (ABC) member from Louisville, Ky., knew and embodied this. She was al...so a firm believer in continuing education and the annual conference, which is why she established the Miss Dorothy Scholarship. The scholarship allows two ABC members to attend annual conference each year and covers registration fees and a stipend. Penner passed away in 1998 and the Association of Bridal Consultants chose to honor her legacy with the Miss Dorothy Penner Heart Award for Passion and Excellence to the Wedding Industry. This is the most prestigious recognition that Association of Bridal Consultants presents which happens each year at the ABC Annual Conference - ABC World of Weddings. The next day started with an amazing entertainment showcase including a 13-piece band, acrobatic performers, live painting and magic by our very own host and emcee, Jay Jay. The day continued with some more impressive education, motivational speakers, and a Sponsor Expo.
