Elektra Fourakis November 14, 1997 - August 23, 2020 In August our family's world was shattered when Elektra, our 22-year-old daughter, passed away from complications of her congenital heart defect. Elektra was a happy, successful, inspiring young woman who did not let her health challenges deter her. She was on course to receive her Bachelor's degree in Global Public Health from Dominican University of California in May 2021. She planned to pursue a Master's of Nursing de...gree, with dreams of becoming a pediatric cardiac nurse, inspired by so many wonderful nurses she met in the pediatric cardiac intensive care unit at UCSF over the years. Elektra taught us that being physically challenged does not mean you are disabled. Elektra loved Greek dancing and performing with the Minoan Dancers, and directing the Little Minoans. She also had her own line of gourmet dog treats, Elektra's Dog Treats. Elektra taught us to experience and be grateful for every moment. She had spunk, she was sassy, she was stubborn and she was a spitfire. Elektra is our shining star Elektra is our hero Elektra will live forever in our hearts
