Blepharoplasty is an outpatient procedure performed under local anesthesia in which excess skin and/or fat is removed to improve the appearance of droopy eyelids or under eye bags. Patien...ts may opt to have either their eyelids or under eye bags individually corrected, or as many choose, have both rejuvenated at the same time. The pictured clients had the procedure done to both their upper eye lid and under eye bags. To correct sagging eyelids, Dr. Nguyen makes short fine incisions along the natural upper eyelid creases and removes the appropriate amount of excess skin. In some cases, the eyelid muscle is also tightened To eliminate under eye bags and puffiness, fine incisions are made directly below the lower lash line. Through these incisions fat is either removed or redistributed. Excess skin may be removed, as well. The incisions in both upper and lower eyelid surgery are closed with sutures. These are removed in 2-7 days. Because the incisions are strategically placed if any scarring should occur it will be virtually undetectable.
