El Dorado County Issues Directive Clarifying Restriction of Short-Term Rentals to Reduce the Spread of the COVID-19 Virus On March 24, 2020, El Dorado County’s Public Health Officer, Dr. Nancy Williams, issued a directive that clarifies Governor Newsom’s March 18th Stay At Home Order as it relates to short-term lodging, defined as a period of less than 30 days at facilities including hotels, motels, condominiums, campgrounds, other units. The Directive states that staying in a short-term for recreation, tourism or as a location other than one’s residence to shelter in place is not considered an essential activity and Californians are in violation of the Governor’s Order and Public Health Officer’s earlier Directive if they do so. (We are closed for short term stays under 30 days.)

Dear loyal guests, we hope you are all healthy during this difficult time. Our family is well and sheltering at home. We remain open with full power and internet at this time with the following changes to protect ourselves and our guests. We have lowered our rates to $100 per night and do not include breakfast. As long as we are in good health, and can obtain supplies we are offering breakfast delivered to your room for an additional $20. We are discouraging congregating in ...our public rooms. Additionally, we are allowing our rooms to air unoccupied for two days between guests, which exceeds the time the virus is able to live on hard surfaces, which are all also sanitized thoroughly. Please note that our rooms have individual heating and air sources, and are not connected by central ductwork, and none are close enough to another to share a wall. We ask that you cancel your rooms with us at any time, with no penalty, if you experience any symptoms of illness. Many of our local restaurants have take out or delivery available for your other meals, and most of our rooms contain a mini fridge if you prefer to prepare your own. Despite the closures of many indoor establishments, there are still many lovely hikes and strolls to take in our area. Thank you for your continued support. We will get through this! See more

Come up for a Christmas weekend after November 13 and we will show you where to get your permit, serve your group a hearty breakfast before sending you off equipped with a thermos of hot chocolate, a map, saw and rope. When you return, enjoy Christmas shopping on our quaint Main Street while we hose off your tree. You can even enjoy a free stagecoach ride!
